But if JJ gets in without needing the exemption doesn't that make it really only 3 other cars?
I was trying to remember that yesterday. I can't remember if applying for the exemption means you're 41st regardless of the qualifying process.
EDIT: there will be 41 cars regardless of whether the driver / team qualifies anyway. That was a clarification from the original rule.
Yeah 41 cars posted in post #2. They have to use the open provisional first now. They can't attempt to qualify and if that attempt fails then use the provisional.
