2026 Silly Season

My "issue" with JJ still racing is I feel it's 90% financially motivated rather than actually wanting to be out there. He was never an emotional interview guy but now whenever they talk to him it sounds like a CEO giving quarterly earnings on a conference call.

What documentation is there supporting your statements? External sources, team press releases, on-the-record quotes from crew members, etc.
 
The experimental story might have worked 30 years ago before Hendrick had rooms full of engineers and simulators back at the shop and out in the trailer, but today it's like a sighting of Bigfoot these days.
 
Kvapil fills out the rest of his season with DGM racing. Full time in O'Reilly's.

The current 48 numbered team isn’t the same team that Gordon owned/owns a percentage of. Jimmie’s old 48 was re-numbered to the 5. Larson and Cliff Daniel’s took over that old 48 team. The current 48 with Bowman is the old 88 team, and current 24 with Byron is the old 5 team from when Kasey drove it, and the 9 of Chase Elliott is Gordon’s old 24 team (and still even has Gustafson on the box).

Brand loyalty has been over rated by everyone involved except the factory reps for decades. Tony leaving Chevy put an end to that illusion. Gibbs, Penske, Petty; all have jumped ship before. Toss enough money at them and Hendrick would leave Chevy or the Woods would abandon Ford.

And when they had two cars, one was always better, and when they had three, one was always a little behind. Has anybody EVER gone from the Hendrick "R&D" car and done better elsewhere? And while we are at it, the 25 was as much Papa Joe's as one of Roush's was owned by his mother. Completely meaningless. Papa Joe adopted the 25 team like you adopt a stray cat because Rick had to put SOMEBODIES name on it. Never mind that he has been dead for what, 22 years? Lets also not forget that the 48 was in position to have deep playoff runs the last two years if the crew could remember how to read a set of scales and could remember how to do a pit stop. If being in position to make the final eight in the playoffs is R&D, bring it on.
