Nascar Talladega Spring Pre-Race Thread.

Goodyear Racing Notes: Talladega Superspeedway
NASCAR Cup Series teams will run the same Goodyear Racing Eagle tires at Talladega Superspeedway this weekend as at Daytona International Speedway to start the season.
The Goodyear Racing Eagle tires selected are also the same as those raced on both visits to Talladega last year. This left-side tire has raced at NASCAR’s longest oval track since 2022, and the right-side tire was introduced last year with a construction update.
“We have seen tire wear increase at Talladega in recent visits, but the tire setups we’ve selected for this weekend provide teams with a familiar base,” said Rick Heinrich, Goodyear NASCAR product manager. “Strategy here is often dictated by drafting position, but it’s common to see teams add two-tire and fuel-only stops into the mix throughout the race.”
NASCAR O’Reilly Auto Parts Series teams will also continue with a familiar Talladega setup. So far this season, they have run this left-side tire at Daytona, and the right-side tire at EchoPark Speedway. They will also use inner liners, as is customary on tracks 1-mile and longer.
Goodyear Racing Eagle tires are also in action this weekend at zMax Dragway in Concord, North Carolina, for the NHRA 4-Wide Nationals.

Welcome, glad you are here and good to see you are posting. Dega will be another indicator if they have more H.P. than everybody else or if it is something else would be my guess. Sure looked like they had more H.P. at Kansas and they were fast out of the hole at the smaller tracks.

It seems like you can almost predict a 23Xl or Joe Gibbs Racing Team Driver Racing for the win. Hopefully you are correct with the new Chevy body.
The mothership 2 yota teams have found an advantage and they are exploiting the hell out of it as they should. If all things were equal, their pit crews alone would have them in contention for winning as it is.
For several years, the Fords have done a much better job of operating as a group than the other two manufacturers. A Ford winner here wouldn't be a surprise.

There's always an advantage to be found and those two teams seem to have found the magic right now. These other teams though are not stupid or they don't want to come across as stupid so they will pull out all the stops to hunt down the next advantage to get back on top.
Nascar didn't stop the hanky panky that will be going on at Dega. The fuel can is 14 gallons, the tank is 20. He who has saved enough fuel that 14 gallons or less to dump in at the last stage gets them out of the pits the quickest. The OEM's could also order up a sacrificial rabbit(s) to lead the field wide open so the trailing car can save fuel and run the whole last stage without running out of fuel.

This year 2 races in the big Menards 4th at Daytona, 2nd last week at Kansas. Nut cruncher or not he good enough to get rides. Especially if he has money behind him. Like it or not that's reality. Going from there to Cup is insane though.
Of course around here Dye will always be mud lol.

Tell ya what, Dye has been racing in Nascar since 2020 at 16 years old, so like you and Nascar overtime, you can bark up this tree also. He isn't going anywhere.

"Dye, 18, allegedly approached a classmate – who wished to remain anonymous – while the classmate was sitting in a chair, and began dancing and grinding with his groin and pelvic area near his classmate's face, according to a police report obtained by PEOPLE.
The police report states that Dye's classmate attempted to push him away with his left arm, and Dye continued to dance and grind in the boy's face for about another minute until he stopped.

Tell ya what pal, I said way back in this thread that I wasn't a fan of Dye, and I have never condoned his behavior so f off. Reality sucks and the herd can do what the herd does. Facts are the charges were dropped, he's racing, deal with it but don't try to lay that B.S. on me. I've seen and heard of a lot crazy things happen when I was a teenager.
