    Chicago Bonehead

I’m going to assume you don’t recall what NBC did just 2 weeks ago when the cup debacle at New Hampshire was going on while IndyCar had live racing in a scheduled timeslot that got pushed to Peacock. NBC couldn’t care less about televised coverage of a single lap of that IndyCar race, and they...

    Chicago Bonehead

I have no issue with NBC wanting to have the IndyCar and NASCAR races back to back. That is good programming in my opinion. What I don’t understand is why NASCAR wasted an entire hour between the end of the IndyCar race at 3:45 EDT and the scheduled 5:00 EDT (4:00 CDT) start time for the cup...

Activity time! If a NASCAR centric IROC were to return, how would you structure it?

If I was bringing back IROC, I’d rather see it be a blend of NASCAR and Indycar the way it was before. Races at Long Beach (yes, a street course NASCAR doesn’t race on), Gateway, Indianapolis, Iowa, Texas, and Charlotte Roval. I think SRX has a good model. I’d like to add to it, but not with...

    Cup RACE thread --- Talladega

Fine with me if they get the race in today.

    See everyone Monday.

SRX RACE thread --- Nashville Fairgrounds

This was entertaining to watch for 6 weeks. Do it again next summer. I liked the tracks with maybe one change to remove Stafford. Knoxville was ok but I can’t think of another dirt track that would be a better choice to replace it. I’d like to see them increase their regular driver roster...

NASCAR President Steve Phelps directly addresses Cup rules package

Sure you can - by not watching.

    Midweek races not working....

If there was any excitement to the racing, that would certainly help.

Interest builds around possible changes to NASCAR schedule

All this BS when there’s a damn good short track just 6 miles to the west.

Interest builds around possible changes to NASCAR schedule

Agreed. Moving a race from Bristol would not be an improvement in the number of short track races. It would just make the most sense (in my opinion).

Interest builds around possible changes to NASCAR schedule

Bristol. Take the spring race there and move it to Nashville.

Should Nascar have a Senior Tour

Nobody, it’s just a fantasy. I think it would be cool, and maybe lure back some of the old school fans that have turned away from NASCAR. The logistics don’t work out in favor of this ever happening though.

Should Nascar have a Senior Tour

NASCAR Legacy Series Use the K&N Series/ARCA rules. Race length short enough to eliminate the need for pit stops. If necessary, a fuel stop for all cars can occur at the midway point of a race. Limit of 6 tires per weekend with exceptions made for tire failures. Single day race format - 30...

    Ideal Cup Schedule

This is the schedule I posted under the “More Short Tracks” topic for the 2021 season. My ideal schedule would have several changes from this, but I attempted to remain somewhat realistic. I proposed making several races shorter while keeping some of the traditional races as they are...

    More Short Tracks

I agree with both of you about Martinsville, and IRP would have a much better race than IMS. IRP is about 45 minutes away from me and it is one of the few pavement tracks I am willing to go to. My proposed schedule would look very different if it was made up of races that I want to see. I was...

    More Short Tracks

I posted this several months ago on another topic, and I think it is a compromise that might address some fan and driver preferences. This is entirely hypothetical and has absolutely no chance of becoming reality, but this is what I would like to see for NASCAR‘s premier series when this...

Tony Stewart to fans: ‘Put some pressure on NASCAR’ for Xfinity race at Eldora

Looks like some folks have had their head buried in the sand longer than I thought. Probably missed it.

Tony Stewart to fans: ‘Put some pressure on NASCAR’ for Xfinity race at Eldora

They literally did that for several years. Ever heard of the Prelude to the Dream? Kyle actually won the Prelude to the Dream. It might have been the last one they had. Jimmie Johnson also won it one year. I think Kenny Wallace won the first, which falls into your mid-packer acclimating...

Interest builds around possible changes to NASCAR schedule

This is entirely hypothetical and has absolutely no chance of becoming reality, but this is what I would like to see for NASCAR‘s premier series when this supposed schedule revolution could take place in 2021. I am a huge advocate of a schedule that does not visit tracks more than once, that...
