Smart decision IMO. She doesn't need the money or the fatigue. She needs to rest. https://www.espn.com/wnba/story/_/id/42510300/caitlin-clark-play-unrivaled-league-source-says

What are the wildcard spots about? Mystery/rotating teammates? Open spots?

All right, Andrew, we might as well set the ground rules now. If I'm gonna continue to be in The Church with you, then dang it, you're gonna show me some respect like I've been showing you since I joined up. I'm here. You're not gonna shame and rib me for how I got here, for other players I...

This isn't a competition between them or anybody else I like, but nope, I got it right. I didn't know Lexie existed until Marina brought me here and I then saw a Fever game or two.

I've said this before, but for the newer folks in this thread (welcome, BTW), I used to religiously follow the NBA and casually follow the WNBA. Now, the situation is reversed. I haven't followed the NBA since the end of the 2007-2008 season, when my favorite player, Kevin Garnett, finally won a...

Like FL alluded to, Paige, Rickea Jackson, and Cameron Brink would have been a great young group to watch. Alas, not gonna happen now.
  8. Mr. Gregory

    WNBA

    I already like Paige. :lol2:
  9. Mr. Gregory

    WNBA

That's the thing, man, Unrivaled can offer Caitlin the sun, the moon, and the stars, but she's obviously not hurting for money, fame, etc. IMHO, she has played so much basketball recently and needs to rest. She doesn't need to be out there getting gassed running around nonstop in 3x3 games. I...
  10. Mr. Gregory

    WNBA

Yeah, I have no doubt that Paige is going to Dallas, and Golden State indeed gets the #5 pick. The expansion draft next month should be interesting. Golden State will get one player from each of the other teams, who get to protect 6 players from being selected. Anyone else is fair game...
  11. Mr. Gregory

    WNBA

Yeah, at least on paper, that's disappointing for me. I was really hoping that LA would get the first pick, just because Dallas doesn't even need Paige IMO. I don't know what happened with them in 2023, but they only had such a bad record in 2024 because everybody was hurt. If that same exact...

Speaking of Unrivaled, looks like Teresa Weatherspoon has found herself another coaching gig. 👍 https://www.espn.com/wnba/story/_/id/42408827/unrivaled-coach-list-includes-teresa-weatherspoon-phil-handy
  13. Mr. Gregory

    WNBA

Well, she obviously has to agree to join Unrivaled first. After all the basketball she has played recently, I definitely can't blame her for wanting to just kick back and shank a few golf balls. :lol2:
  14. Mr. Gregory

I wish the ladies success with Unrivaled and am glad that they now have another viable off-season basketball option other than playing overseas. That said, I most likely won't be watching it. If the Olympics were any indication, 3x3 ain't it for me. It's way too fast-paced for my liking.
  15. Mr. Gregory

After reading these two pieces, the first of which is a really good, heartfelt piece written by Kelsey Mitchell, I'm very curious to see what ends up happening with her for next season. She's again sounding like she wants to leave Indiana, or like she at least wants to test the waters in free...

Gonna be a long wait until next spring. In the meantime, you could always go back and watch some games again on League Pass - which reminds me, I still need to sit down and watch the rest of the playoffs. I think I left off at 1-1 in the Minnesota/Connecticut series.

Minnesota is losing their GM, Clare Duwelius, and one of their assistant coaches who I really liked, Katie Smith. Clare's becoming the GM and EVP of that Unrivaled 3x3 league that Phee and Stewie started. Katie is going back to her alma mater, Ohio State, to be an assistant coach there. Jacy...

Curt Miller has a new job. He's now the Dallas Wings' GM and EVP of B-ball Ops. https://www.espn.com/wnba/story/_/id/42268904/sparks-coach-curt-miller-named-wings-general-manager

I guess The Church has real power. I can't believe how hyped I already am for the start of next season in, what, May? It's the beginning of November. 😭 :lol2:

Got some changes going down in Vegas. Dunno if any of these moves are in any way related to that lawsuit, but over the last month or so, they've lost their GM, Natalie Williams, and the two assistant coaches I always saw sitting next to Becky Hammon on the bench, Natalie Nakase and Tyler Marsh...
