Helluva college coach. Still hear rumors about why he left IU.Curt Miller has a new job. He's now the Dallas Wings' GM and EVP of B-ball Ops.
Ex-Sparks coach Miller takes over as Wings GM
Curt Miller has been hired as the Wings' general manager and executive vice president of basketball operations.www.espn.com
Gonna be a long wait until next spring. In the meantime, you could always go back and watch some games again on League Pass - which reminds me, I still need to sit down and watch the rest of the playoffs. I think I left off at 1-1 in the Minnesota/Connecticut series.I miss watching Caitlin Clark play basketball.
I wish the ladies success with Unrivaled and am glad that they now have another viable off-season basketball option other than playing overseas. That said, I most likely won't be watching it. If the Olympics were any indication, 3x3 ain't it for me. It's way too fast-paced for my liking. The Unrivaled League is apparently offering CC a "Messi-like" offer
to join the league for its inaugural season starting in Jan. If CC feels
like she has or will get enough rest and recovery between now
and first tip-off, she may want to strike while the iron is hot when there
is crazy "Messi-Like" money involved, whatever that means.
Yeah you are right , I tried a little Olympic 3 on 3 and it didnt keep my attention.I wish the ladies success with Unrivaled and am glad that they now have another viable off-season basketball option other than playing overseas. it needs to be wimmins beach basketball (featuring the same uniform technology that the wimmins beach volleyball utilizes)I wish the ladies success with Unrivaled and am glad that they now have another viable off-season basketball option other than playing overseas. Well, she obviously has to agree to join Unrivaled first. After all the basketball she has played recently, I definitely can't blame her for wanting to just kick back and shank a few golf balls.Yeah you are right , I tried a little Olympic 3 on 3 and it didnt keep my attention.
Who knows though, its CC. I might get sucked in again unable to escape. She is just an athletic freak of nature.
Kind of a bummer tbh, I think she’d be a better fit with the Sparks and it’d be much better for the league if she were in LA. Now it’s quite likely she’s on a smaller market team playing in a 7k-seat college arena…
Yeah, at least on paper, that's disappointing for me. I was really hoping that LA would get the first pick, just because Dallas doesn't even need Paige IMO. I don't know what happened with them in 2023, but they only had such a bad record in 2024 because everybody was hurt. If that same exact group they had in 2024 was healthy and played some defense as a team, they would have been completely fine.Kind of a bummer tbh, I think she’d be a better fit with the Sparks and it’d be much better for the league if she were in LA. Maybe Dallas takes Kiki Iriafen instead though, who’s probably a better fit for the Wings than the Sparks.
Yeah, she doesn’t really need the ball in her hands to make an impact offensively either, but I do wonder if she can reach her full potential playing with a ball-dominant guard like Arike. Though Dallas could certainly use her perimeter defense either way.Yeah, at least on paper, that's disappointing for me. Oh well. That's the way the cookie crumbles. I hear that Paige is a two-way player, so assuming that she does end up in Dallas, maybe she'll help give them some kind of spark on the defensive end.
Draft lottery came and went and now the dallas wings hold the #1 pick, followed by the sparks, the sky and the mystics. Is paige going 1 to the wings? Also the expansion Valkyries are picking 5th i think? Mercury picking 12th and I wonder if my girl DT is retirig or returning? Should be an exciting draft class.
Yeah, I have no doubt that Paige is going to Dallas, and Golden State indeed gets the #5 pick. The expansion draft next month should be interesting. Golden State will get one player from each of the other teams, who get to protect 6 players from being selected. Anyone else is fair game.Draft lottery came and went and now the dallas wings hold the #1 pick, followed by the sparks, the sky and the mystics. Is paige going 1 to the wings? That's the thing, man, Unrivaled can offer Caitlin the sun, the moon, and the stars, but she's obviously not hurting for money, fame, etc.I'm jonesing for a Caitlin Clark game. Can she joined Unrivaled so I have something to watch?
Teams protect six players. Anyone else is fair game. It'll be interesting to see which players the Valkyries get in the expansion draft? I asume no key players as usual expansion means teams can block from acquiring key players? Who will be their first pick?
Like FL alluded to, Paige, Rickea Jackson, and Cameron Brink would have been a great young group to watch. Alas, not gonna happen now.Paige Bueckers didn’t get what she wanted in the WNBA draft lottery
The Dallas Wings won the WNBA draft lottery, but Paige Bueckers, widely presumed to be the top pick, had designs on ending up elsewhere.nypost.com
I'd like to see Paige in LA myself. Her and Cameron Brink would be must see TV.
They’ll suck for one year, get the #1 pick for 2026 and be a big player in the mass free agency coming that same offseason. That ownership is ready to spend. It'll be interesting to see which players the Valkyries get in the expansion draft?
