I put a "What's New?" link at the bottom left corner of the quick navigation/forum jump menu. Does that work? You can bring up that menu by clicking the little button on the right side of the breadcrumb (the one that shows you the path, e.g. Forums > Site-related > Racing-Forums Feedback)

I have adjusted the CSS so that images in signatures have a maximum height of 200 pixels. This will automatically scale down any image that is larger. I'm also playing around with the idea of making sigs "fade out" unless you move your mouse over them, so that they don't dominate the content...
