I don't think it will be a surprise. I think the guys we expect to come in at the back of the Chase pack, still will. Almirola, Allmendinger, maybe Newman and Kahne. Edwards could have a really bad time of it, or Kenseth.

I think if Harvick's new crew doesn't do better than the old one, we'll never hear anything about it. He wouldn't be dumb enough to throw this group under the bus, too.

Yeah, but the existing schedule has nearly all the races on broadcast or basic cable. The new schedule shifts half of them to FS1 and NBCSN which are not always basic-cable channels (I know they aren't on Dish and DirecTV which you know a lot of rural race fans will be watching on.)

So, next year if I counted right, over half the races will be on Fox Sports 1 or NBCSN? I'm not liking that. Thats $15 more a month to get the package with those 2 channels (on Dish).

I'm happy about Darlington, too. I can't believe they actually made the change. Now I just hope it sells out so they leave it alone.

Watching the interview, I'm struck at how non-scripted, non-PR infested it is. We need a Tim Richmond or two or three today to bring some spark into NASCAR, not to mention some incredible driving. We just don't have anybody that has that much personality and ability. Too many PR people, too.

Nice article. I expect times won't drop much further, for the same reasons stated. I do wonder if Nascar will ever put any kind of limitations on pit stops to cut costs, though. Having a dedicated team for over the wall, training facilities, coaches, etc is very expensive.

I'd give it a 7.5. It was better than I expected it to be, but still had a lot of dull moments. I didn't fall asleep, though.

I thought during most of the race that Stewart and Newman were going to suck it up, and up until the end, they did. Then at the end, I ended up with 3 in top 10 and Jeff Burton at 20th I think. I lucked out big time.

Seven or eight years ago, the answer would definitely have been Ward Burton. Now, though, I don't know. All I can think of is Not Elliott Sadler.
