I know some of yall aint too big on the conspiracy, and neither am I normally, but the parallels this year alone are weird. JUST SAYIN'

-the return of the #3 in 13 years nabs the pole at the D500
-that weird letter rolled through that mentioned the idea that JJ was told by NASCAR to hold back till the Coke 600.. low & behold he rattles 3 wins off like its nothin
- Richard Petty's final win at the firecracker 400 was aired more times to count today and the #43 car ends up in victory lane.
- nascar implements this new radical points design to emphasize winning & all of a sudden we have the largest variety of different winners in the first half of the season ever seen in recent history

Obviously these types of wins happen to lots of drivers, usually a well funded one because obviously you have to be up front.

I guess it's nice for the "little guy" to get a break.

And yeah I think the prospect of the 43 getting the win was the polar opposite of a hindurence to france and co. in the decision calling it.

I certainly wouldn't rule it out. I think the 43 car winning today was just coincidence, I think NASCAR made the right call ending the race when they did. My bigger issue today was with the "debris" cautions that magically helped the 10 and the 88 all day long. I've also stated before that I think three of the last four Daytona 500 pole days were a little too good to be true, and I stand by that thought.

never know one day we might even have a tie at the end of the season.....oh yeah

Hel if the fix was in, Jr. and Danica would be winning a lot more often and Johnson wouldn't be Mr. Six Pack. :p

Myself and others would argue that the very reason she is in cup in the first place is by definition a "fix".

If NASCAR was in the business of fixing races, Dale Jr would have multiple Sprint Cups sitting in his trophy case and Danica Patrick would have something in her trophy case.

Word is Jr was supposed to win 5 championships by now, but he kept losing the IOU's Brian gave him playing poker with JJ.

I don't think the fix is in for any one driver, but nascar does change the outcome of the race with a lot of questionable cautions.

Its easy to question things like Danica winning the pole for the 500 , Austin winning the pole for the 500, those are easy fixes that NASCAR can do since they hand out the restrictor plates to the teams, so I could believe those two poles were fixed, but fixing races, not possible, but NASCAR does throw BS cautions to what seems like to help control the out come of races.

Lets take last years Nwide race at Homestead, NASCAR has gotten good at throwing the red flag , but yet, they chose to let the cars run around under caution for what, like 12 laps, its things like that can make you question if NASCAR is really trying to control the out come of the races, and I think there are times that NASCAR does indeed try control outcome for what they think will be for better ratings and entertainment. NASCAR is no longer a racing sport, but a entertainment company.

But for the 400, the race was going to be called either way.

On the 43 winning, I say definitely a coincidence. Since when has NASCAR cared anything about what happened 30 years ago?!
