I don't know if it's been mentioned in this thread but didn't Bill Elliot have like eight 2nd place finishes before he got his first win? Chase will be fine.
I agree. He's ready. How many Xfinty drivers have beaten the Cup drivers at both Daytona and Indy, much less in the same season. Much less in his rookie season.
I love going to Martinsville in Friday for qualifying. I liked it more with the old qualifying method but that any other conversation. That being said, I have liked Sunday morning qualifying, even though I forgot they were doing it at Watkins Glen.
I'd pull the trigger on Byron. I don't think he'll learn anything in another year of Xfinty that he wouldn't learn in the first half of the Cup season.
They should both do it and turn it into a charity opportunity. Like have the highest or lowest finisher donate to the Alan Kulwicki scholarship program
That's been my view all along. I wouldn't mind a Cup driver driving for a team such as JDM or Biagi Brothers. One other thing I think needs to be done is restricting over the wall pit crew guys from Cup teams from pitting Xfinty cars or trucks.
On the way home from Virginia Beach today, going down I81, we passed 11 team transpoters on the way to Watkins Glen. All Gibbs trucks were nose to tail. The 88 and 48 were as well. To my sons dismay, we didn't see Chase Elliott's.
The battle between Austin Dillon and Kasey Kahne may be the one to watch. 17 winners could happen. AJ winning next week would make things really interesting
