What NASCAR really should do, if they just really want to keep the Cup guys in the Xfinity Series, is choose a few allocated races for the Cup guys to compete in. As we have seen so far, this rule that they put in place this season obviously has loopholes. As a matter of fact, I read somewhere that the Cup guys have taken more wins and top-fives this season than they have in years past. All the rule has done is enable the team owners to put in more Cup drivers for more races, therefore, taking more wins away from the regulars.
When I say that NASCAR should choose a few races, I mean they should literally choose i.e. the season opener at Daytona, the X race at Charlotte, etc. That way the team owners can't have three different Cup drivers driving the same car throughout the year, like Blaney, Logano, and Keselowski have done with the 22. Instead, they have to find some new guys to give some seat time to for the remainder of the season that was not set aside for the Cup guys.
Just an idea. Thoughts?
