    Dirt Late Models 2022

It's rarer than a unicorn to see two top drivers out of two top teams and nobody is mad at anybody. But reading that Floracing article, this seems to be what's happening with B Shep and O'Neal. Good to see it.

    F1 2022 News/Misc.

Scratching my head about both halves of this one, @Kiante. Do you think the FDA decision was a unilateral decision by Mick??

    Silly Season 2023

We'll find out over the next year or two. Will McDowell's 34 remain in the top-10? Jones in the 43? Kaulig and Trackhouse? Or will the big players spend F1-style budgets to find a way to dominate? A lot depends on whether those spec parts remain truly spec even for the big well-funded teams...

    Silly Season 2023

I'm not @StandOnIt and you didn't ask me, but I'll tell ya anyway... I don't like the business model that Toyota brings to Nascar, and I think it is bad for the sport of Nascar and potentially dangerous to its future. Before Toyota, Nascar team owners were the competitive anchor of the sport...

Cup RACE thread --- Soggy Daytona

For sure. IMO, there is a 89.5% correlation between the fans that whine because you didn't call a pre-emptive caution when rain was near, and the fans that whined a couple years ago when you *did call* a caution for impending rain. Imagine the uproar, and the conspiracy theories, if Nascar had...

Grandview opened in 1963 and has remained under the same ownership ever since, until now. The widow of the founder is 80 years old. Her husband passed away decades ago, and subsequently her son operated the track. He passed away a few years ago. I don't see Copart as some sort of villain in...

    Brad Keselowski - Official Thread

Just putting this retrospective on the 2012 championship here, for the record. I don't know if Brad's big gamble to leave Penske and join Roush Fenway as a co-owner will pay off or not. The jury is still out. But it's an admirable effort IMO, and I for one respect what what B Kez is trying to do.

Playoff Fever spreads to Supercross and Motocross... with $10 million purse promised

Fifty years (!) after the birth of Supercross, it looks like AMA Motocross and Supercross are finally going to collaborate for the mutual good of both forks of the motocross industry. Yikes, it comes with a playoff... three races in the fall to crown the SuperMotocross Champion... and they are...

    Silly Season 2023

It's more commonly called a "media availability" and is completely routine, but some random fan named Jason with a twitter account has called it an "announcement." So I'm not expecting anything to get announced in that time slot.. :idunno:

Dale's take on the last restart is pretty reasonable IMO.

Time to look at playoff format?

There might be 17 cars in the playoffs this year, including the #45 Toyota driven by Ty Gibbs..:bazooka: Writing in The Athletic, Jeff Gluck quoted Denny Hamlin as saying 23XI has been discussing with Nascar what would happen if Kurt Busch is not cleared to race at Darlington. Reading between...

Cup RACE thread --- Watkins Glen

It's not often that I fundamentally disagree with @FLRacingFan, but this time I do. FL is saying... (a) it's a dirty move but (b) Chase should have expected that and therefore selected the inside lane, and (c) since he didn't do that he now owes payback to Larson. I'm as critical as anyone of...

Cup RACE thread --- Watkins Glen

I agree with Pockrass. A driver should race his teammate the same way he'd race others... aggressively but not dirty. I think that's exactly what we saw on Sunday. If a move is kosher against a random competitor, then it's kosher against your teammate. And by the same token, if a move is over...

Some random Nascar fan with a twitter account sez the Door Bumper Clear guys sez 10% chance but he ain't revealing what the merch hauler guy sez to nobody's father-in-law so it's a grain-of-salt deal without that.. :idunno:

Bonehead of the week: Watkins Glen

I know it's a tired cliche, but if there was ever a time to say, "Rubbin' is racin'", then this is it. Like @SOI said, I nominate the gerbils, first for "radio style." People, we have pictures. We're not listening to radio. Second, for trying to make controversy out of the final restart. That's...

Johali's Rate Cup race ---Watkins Glen

I agree it was a great race. I can understand Chase Elliott fans being disappointed," but there's no justification for being "mad." Mad at what, exactly?
