SiriusXM's NASCAR Radio - Today's, not so hidden, agenda.....

 LOL... I'll be calling them this week, they better come up with a meaningful discount cuz I ain't paying $300 for a year of Sirius-XM. And I do listen to more than the NASCAR channel. In fact I've found I don't listen to the NASCAR channel much anymore.

    SILLY SEASON 2019

If NASCAR is rigging things to ensure Harvick is in the Final Four, why didn't they just look the other way regarding the spoiler? :idunno:

    SILLY SEASON 2019

Truex quote from that article: "...but it's nice to know what we will be doing in 2019." Sounds to me like this deal was not signed until very recently. "Sponsorship for the No. 19 Toyota Camry in 2019 is still being formulated and will be announced at a later date." o_O Heading into the...

    SILLY SEASON 2019

LOL, Carl wants to go racing again (at least part time) at some point. Should we add him to the Silly Season mix? :D

    NASCAR Death Bed

Will Ally bring back viewers and fill the stands again? ;) But seriously, securing a full-year primary sponsor, in this day and age, is a major accomplishment. Great for HMS and the 48 team, and for NASCAR to an extent. However, I'm not ready to proclaim that the tide has turned. When, for...

    NASCAR Death Bed

LMAO! They wanted to be in 100 million or so homes like ESPN were at the time. Not tracking ESPN on its way down. "...And the expectation that over a period of time NBC Sports will get beyond 80 million (households) to 90 million to 100 million with their product driving subscription rates.'...

    NASCAR Death Bed

ESPN has lost a lot of subscribers in recent years. Thus their multiple rounds of layoffs, etc. I don't have time to search in depth at the moment, but here's an article from Nov. 2017: "The network, one of the most watched on the cable dial, had 88 million U.S. subscribers at the end of...

BREAKING: Majority owners explore sale of NASCAR

It would appear it hasn't worked out so well. Judging by the quote highlighted above, as well as the info I posted here: https://racing-forums.com/threads/nascar-death-bed.59026/page-35#post-1456687

BREAKING: Majority owners explore sale of NASCAR

"One source said NASCAR is valuing a 40 percent stake in only the sanctioning body at $2 billion, which would imply a total value of $5 billion."

Apparently, not only the fans are confused! I listen to the races on Sirius XM. I've noticed that occasionally the announcers stumble a bit while trying to identify a car. In particular, the turn announcers, when they're trying to quickly inform listeners which car(s) just crashed or spun.

    NASCAR Death Bed

"Bubba Wallace will be without a backup car for this weekend’s Cup race at Talladega Superspeedway... ...The lack of a backup car is a product of RPM’s lack of funding. The team has struggled to secure sponsorship for Wallace, who finished second in the Daytona 500 but has one top 10 in the 29...

    NASCAR experiences for UK tourist

Indeed, there won't be much racing going on up in those states during that time frame, due to winter weather conditions. If you want to see a race, particularly in one of the top three series, you'll need to tack a side trip to a warmer part of the country. I imagine the same would be true...

Chad Knaus to crew chief for Byron in '19

Good question. Contractual reasons of some sort, perhaps? :idunno: I also wonder if Jimmie will stay after this season, especially if solid sponsorship doesn't materialize?
