They need to get tire degradation higher on the prime tire. If lap times fell off more dramatically on that tire, it would have mixed up the strategy more and thus more passing opportunities to pass good vs. bad tires...
Stick with it. If you keep pushing yourself at a safe healthy pace, you'll get to your goal. Remember, most things never happen in a straight line. Life is jagged, so look at it from a long view.
Yeah, that in-car view looks like he could have just easily recovered by turning into the spin and taken it into the paved overrun. It wasn't really a snap oversteer on him till he lit the tires up. Boneheaded...
