    On the lighter side

I thought this was pretty funny. https://www.nascar.com/news-media/2018/06/20/dale-earnhardt-jr-recalls-race-to-a-port-a-john-with-brad-keselowski/ I don't know how, but NASCAR definitely needs to capture more of the "hangin out" times with the drivers. Does Clint Bowyer have his own reality...

    Street Races?

I'd rather see IMSA bring a street race to Phoenix or Vegas than NASCAR, but I'm not opposed to a street race if it gets rid of a cookie cutter date.

    NASCAR - Television Ratings Thread

Ahhh! I knew I was missing something. I stand corrected.

    NASCAR - Television Ratings Thread

Not to split hairs here because the 500 is certainly a well observed event, but is this true anymore? Last time I checked the ratings (And it has been a long while) the 500 has only been getting about 15mil viewers in recent years. I remember the world series averaging about 20 mil viewers and...

    Radioactive 2018

Lol I love the exchange between JJ and Chad. JJ- My car is a disaster! Forget it, it's fine. Chad - Soooo does that mean loose or tight? lol. Like talking to an upset wife. "I'm fine!"

Lessons Learned from Memorial Day Weekend Racing

Yeah that was crazy. I was scratching my head at that one too. You are leading the indy 500 with 4 laps to go and you decide to pit? I'm no conspiracy theorist but even I thought that looked a little suspicious.

Lessons Learned from Memorial Day Weekend Racing

I never understood why they don't just take a camera feed from one of the seats as if you were there at the race. You don't need to show it every lap, but they also don't show the bumper cam every lap (for good reasons). So many opportunities for improved camera angles.

Lessons Learned from Memorial Day Weekend Racing

As the title states, what did you learn over the weekend? 1. Indycar broke their aero package (specifically for the 500). The race was still interesting to watch but not as interesting as the previous few years. IMO. 2. Poor, Poor Danica. 3. Sherry Pollex > Liz Power, even though I think they...

    2018 Charlotte - Coca-Cola 600 - Pre-Race Thread

My bet is sooner than that. I'm thinking more like Michigan or Chicago at the latest! On a more important note, I think this is truly Autoracing's Superbowl Sunday! I love watching all three races and each for a different reason. The Monaco race for the "scene", the Indycar race for the racing...

All-Star race experimentation receives mostly high marks

This will be interesting. The casual fan loves plate racing so I'm willing to bet that we are going from 4 plate races a year to 25 (including all cookie cutters, cali, mich, indy, dover) I left out phoenix, darlington, and the short tracks, so it could be potentially more. I have to admit, it...

    Radioactive 2018

Surprised they didn't show anything about when McMurray stayed out and held up the inside line. Somebody had to be swearing on the radio behind him. They were even talking about it in the post race interviews a little.

What 5 drivers would you add to NASCAR

NASCAR should hold an exhibition race. Put the top F1 drivers in Penske, HMS, JGR equipment, and put the top nascar drivers in FRM equipment, and let's see how everyone does. Maybe they could hold it at the Glen so everyone is familiar with it, or Daytona Road Course.

    Kasey Kahne

I think McDowell is a pretty good driver and just needs a chance on a slightly better team. The 34 team isn't going to tear up the charts but I think he could pop into the top 10 on occasion with that team. That would be a victory in my book.

    Lack of debris

I was thinking more along the lines of creating a 4th quarter/stage. It seemed to come out right with about 60 laps to go or 55 after caution, same length as the first two stages.

New rules for the All-Star race

I'm all for trying new things but I think this is a lost opportunity to get people excited about the roval race. They should have just held the All-star weekend on the roval configuration. Good or bad, people would have been super excited about the race in the fall. With this restrictor plate...

NASCAR stages road course test at Charlotte Motor Speedway

I actually agree with Kyle about turns 7 and 8. Hopefully they at least throw some tires against the wall right there to help out.

Kyle Petty on “Most Non-Aggressive Martinsville Race”

This year has been very tame so far. That just means when we get closer to the chase things will explode. It happens in the playoffs every year. The first two rounds are usually pretty tame, but once there are only a handful of teams reaching for those final four spots, things flare up. Plus, I...

Is it time for HMS to panic?

I think all the chevy teams have a long way to go. I don't see them being competitive until Daytona in July and possibly later than that. It took Toyota about three quarters of a year to finally start being competitive on a consistent basis. The real surprise is Ford. What did they figure out...

    The Morning drive

What about making qualifying like a can-am race. Anyone with a charter is automatically in the race on sunday and would be lined up based on practice times. Teams without a charter need to race into those final 4-8 spots. The non-charter cars that get into the sunday race, still start at the...
