What the hell? They didn't show the 1st 10 laps so they could show the Indy replay! Would have been nice to see the start..

Now THAT would be intriguing!

This should be a fun race, I've been looking forward to this one.

As a follow up to the article mentioning So. Ca. race tracks- anyone on here that used to go to the tracks I went to as a kid- Speedway 605, Saugas, Ascot, there was even a small dirt track in Bell Gardens I could ride my mini bike on on Saturday before races when I was around 5. And of course...

Now there's a name I haven't heard in years- Ivan Baldwin. He used to race whatever class of cars( I was a kid- i don't remember what they were called)ran on Friday nights at the old speedway 605 in irwindale. My parents raced Saturday nights in "claimed stocks".

I liked Jackie, enjoyed his enthusiasm and he always made it seem like whatever race it was - it was maybe the most important race ever LOL!

I think that was around the time they had the Scottish guy as the pit road/ roving reporter. What was his name- for the life of me I can't remember!?! I liked him- much better goofball than the one they have now LOL!

Good read but unless my memory is faulty- and yes that possibility exists- Daytona being the season opener has only existed since around we 1980. I'm pretty sure Riverside used to be the opener, I know I was a kid when we used to go there but I do remember it wasn't long after Christmas LOL!

The biggest problem I have with the NBC guys- and it's mostly Jeff- is that they feel the need to always be talking. It's ok to just listen to the race for 5 or 10 seconds, it's enjoyable to watch the race and not have useless pratter going on in the background. Every second of airtime does not...

I like Brad. I thought he did a good job when he was on ESPN a few years ago.

Where is this so-called podium? I found the stairway to the podium but it said it had zero post and I couldn't access it. Is that it?

I'll try to dig up some old pics my mom gave me years ago that she took on of our trips to riverside. They are from when they had the big wings and Petty's car was still just "Petty blue"- no STP red and Bobby Allison's coca cola car. Had some good memories going there as a little kid!

Um...maybe....not sure what the podium is about?
