Or just stay green at the end of each stage. When there's no defined break, there's point in saving fuel to get there. Eliminates the 'stage points vs. position' question at road courses too. Better yet, mandate routine 'gas and tires' stops not involving repairs be done under green.

Eh, he's run one O'Reilly race. Plenty of opportunities to advance, under less pressure than most of the garage.
