Welp, they did it. After a spirited battle with the Scherer Sport PHX Audi in the first half of the race, the Gounon / Juncadella / Verstappen crew went on to win by a full minute over the rest of the field. Quite the statement made. I noticed the Dacia Logan back out there a few times as well.

For the first time ever, teams from the 13-16 seed lines have gone winless in consecutive years. I’m not sure two years is enough to call it a trend, but it’s not nothing. Lots of good R32 matchups though, and last year we were rewarded for our patience with the best Final Four ever.

I don’t think it’s a guarantee Hubert comes back next year. Probably hear something by the end of the weekend if so. Oats would be an interesting option for UNC, would give a bit of edginess that they’ve been lacking for a while.
