Do they still take random cars and dyno the engines as well as inspect them? I'm assuming that all three manufacturers are really close in power and NASCAR would like to keep it that way.
Still, nothing is going to ever beat the look on Hambones face last year when he realized that his championship hopes just got squashed like a melon by Chastain's insane ride around the wall. I still laugh every time they replay it.
Not just this race, but I have to nominate whoever thought it would be a good idea to put the gerbils, or any announcer, right beside the track, with the cars roaring by and have them shout at the top of their lungs to each other.
I like the playoffs, but I don't think it should come down to one final race. Maybe the most points in the last 3 chase races.
Somebody could dominate all year and loose the championship by a tire going down. Just doesn't seem right.
Elliot should sit out the next race for intentionally hitting Hamlin, just like Denny had to sit out a race for intentionally wrecking Chastain and then bragging about it on his podcast. Wait a minute, Denny didn't sit out a race, did he? Hmmm...
Gibbs for destroying his car on the way back to the pits, and then not wanting to get out.
I can almost hear the conversation...
NASCAR: "Ty, put your net down and get out of your car."
Ty: "No! You can't make me! My granddaddy will have you fired!"
It's pretty obvious what happened. Hambone needed a caution to get back into the race and J.J. was handy. He was all over the other car on the outside and I said to the wife "Hamlin's going to spin this guy, just watch". He didn't spin him, but about 5 seconds later he wrecked J.J.
I'm not a Kyle Bush fan, but RCR has some fast race cars, they've proven that, and I think Kyle will only help make them faster.
Kurt Bush improved every team he raced for, and I think Kyle will do the same at RCR.
They can do some amazing things with body wrap now. I'll bet that they could make all the cars the same, body, nose and tail, and with the wrap they have now, trick the eye into seeing a Ford, Chevy or Toyota.
I was thinking along the lines of a seat, or a seat within a seat, with maybe some of the expanded metal that they use for crush panels in between. The seat and headrest would have some give in the event of a crash, but would otherwise be solid.
