Right hand raised and hand placed on the photos of Eastern European supermodels, I swear I did not manipulate or contrive the seed rankings for this Busch showdown.

I need Proof....post the Eastern European Supermodel Pics!

I had to forget everything else and vote for Raw Talent on this one....still was tuff.

Terry is worthy, no doubt.

But then there is Kyle (and somebody else) to consider - and the title says pick the greatest driver.

That makes this choice a little tougher...

yep, terry definitely is worthy as a person and champion. kyle may very well overtake him in championships. kurt's not bad for a fry cook.

Part of being a great driver is being able to keep a cool head under pressure. That's how championships are won. Voted Terry.

Whew, this one's neck and neck gonna come down to the last corner of the last lap!

I went with Texas Terry on this one...looking at this overall career. However, I think it lies between Kyle and Terry...don't think Kurt really is known in the race here...

I went with Terry Labonte. The biggest difference between Terry and Kryle is that Terry hasn't been in the best equipment in NASCAR his entire racing career.

and kyle hasn't even reached his peak years. don't get me wrong, i love terry (and bobby) but their careers are virtually over. kyle still has a lot of winning racing left in him.

Unless he has another meltdown, and NASCAR parks his silly butt for a little longer next time.

And don't say it couldn't happen man.

Im sick of the media building Kyle up as the man who has matured. And anybody who talks of him building maturity and making good decisions next year, needs to shut it till he can make it through one full season of not imploding.

Thank you! Very well said. He did something 100 times worse than his brother's rants, he wrecked a potential Champion for no reason AND UNDER CAUTION. And he WASN'T EVEN IN THE POINTS RACE! Both those losers should be serving fries at McDonalds.

I didn't vote but without question it is Terry labonte.

Kyle is a "coulda-been"....nothing more.

Glad to see Terry won. As far as kyle, I think the jury is still out on him. He has the talent but not the brains to match it.

Yeah, i'd like to know how many picked Terry because the hate Kyle:rolleyes:

I didn't vote, but if I would have it would have been for Terry. I admit I cannot stand Kyle. However if we are asking the question now who is the greatest driver (and we are). Then hands down it is Terry. Terry's two championships speak for themselves.

Now if we ask this same question 5 years down the line then I am sure Kyle leaps over Terry by far. Like someone else stated in this thread. Being a great driver goes beyond driving ability. Cooler heads prevail. Once Kyle learns this he will win many championships. That is if he ever learns it.

Greatness can't be judged off what people think a driver MIGHT do. This is especially true in Kyles case, because you never what what he might do. He could disgrace himself yet again and get banned frm the sport for a year or 2. You just never know with him.

The neat thing about Terry is that he disproves what you hear so much on these forums about 'over-the-hill ' back markers needing to retire .He came back to win a second championship after being wriiten off . Made a lot of people eat their words.

It's a little hard to compare someone that has been in the Cup since 1978 to someone that ONLY been here since 2005

I don't remember it that way at all. He was on top of his game in the years preceding his second championship and he was only 39 when he won that one. He won two championships over those 18 full-time years finishing outside the top 10 only four times. 39 may be certainly over-the-hill by today's standards but not back then.

I agree but some of our forum members beleive anything over 29 is one foot in the grave and the downside of a career. Lot of people forget Dale Earnhardt was 47 when he finaly Won the Daytona 500 and he was'nt even the oldest to Win it, Bobby Allison was at age 51!

My memory is pretty foggy , but in the four years before he was picked up by Hendrick , I think he mostly ran 15th to 20th with no wins . For Terry , a past champion , I thought that was running pretty poorly . Not his fault , he was in pretty bad equipment . When he got into the Hendrick equipment ,in1994 , he improved right away and won his championship in 1996.
