Due to overwhelming response and the endless PM's to bring the game back the 2012 Chase for the Cup is now open to any and all players. OK, I may have been exaggerating slightly. Nobody actually asked for it, I decided to do it again anyway.

It works as follows.....

You'll pick two Chase drivers each week.

Pick the Chase driver that you think will finish the best for the given week.

Pick the Chase driver that you think will finish the worst for the given week.

The highest score at the end of the Chase is the winner.

Scoring is based on NASCAR's point system.

Your pick for the best driver will simply receive the points awarded by NASCAR.

Your pick for the worst driver will receive the difference in points between the winner of the race and your picks actual race points.

I'll post the results for each week at the end of that weeks thread and then open the next weeks thread up for picks.

The drivers eligible to be chosen for this years game are.....

Denny Hamlin
Jimmie Johnson
Tony Stewart
Brad Keselowski
Greg Biffle
Clint Bowyer
Dale Earnhardt Jr.
Matt Kenseth
Kevin Harvick
Martin Truex Jr.
Kasey Khane
Jeff Gordon

This thread will close @ 1:00pm Sunday, September 16, 2012 and everyone's last picks will be locked in for the week. Your picks must be made by that time in order to receive points for the first week. Yes, you can change your picks if you like up until the thread is closed. There is no limit but please don't abuse it. If you have any questions at all don't hesitate to ask in one of these threads or PM me.

Label each pick as your Best & Worst.

Best - Driver A
Worst - Driver B

My picks.

Best - Tony Stewart
Worst - Denny Hamlin

best- Kasey Kahne
worst Greg Biffle

Not much Kasey faith going on in here...

Dpkimmel's2001 how will points be scored if a car is illegal.

For example if I picked driver x to win and he does indeed take the checkers and most laps led for a value of 48 points, but fails technical inspections and gets a 30 point penalty on Tuesday what does that mean to me.

Is driver x worth the 48 point value, or the adjusted 18 for that race.

An unlikely scenario but a prescribed rule in advance could help to avoid law suits and scandal.

I hadn't really thought about that but in the event that happens we would have to go with what ever the driver scores for the race. It's a chance that we're all taking so that's more than fair.

Sounds to me like you're concerned about going Jimmie Johnson all the way? Am I right or am I right? Did Chad tell Jimmie to crack the rear end again or something?

The more people that play, the more fun it is. It takes all of 10 seconds or so to make your weekly picks and it doesn't last so long that you get bored with it.

I was trying to help get you over that magic 20 barrier . Mission accomplished . The sky is the limit now .
