2014 Daytona 500 Pre Race Thread

Fence STILL sucks as always :(
Good thing the new rules will prevent crashes, somebody could get hurt if they wreck like they used too :sarcasm:
 
Kenseth accomplished what he set out to do Saturday. It sickens me that everyone is blaming Joey when it was clear the 20 was the one who moved out of line.

Well this is gonna be a crazy speed weeks, very expensive too. I guess we blame the closing rate... or Matt and Joey... Thoughts?

Yeah, I thought it was obviously Kenseth but the guys in the interviews were giving joey hell. Maybe they know something we don't? Or maybe Joey did something to piss people off beforehand, like somebody said earlier in this thread.

AGAIN... but I changed my mind at the last second and that damn 22 was there just like last time.... why does that guy keep putting his car where I used to be? I mean come on.. when I move out of the way he should give me a chance to take my spot back if I don't like the move I made.. right?"

No doubt, I called it a half lap before it happened. Three wide crap at Daytona is asking for a wreck and it seems like its worse than ever this year. Matt kenseth drives like its the last lap of the 500 in practice, hope he runs outta cars pretty quick but they will probably give him one of Kyles knowing the love affair Gibbs has for him. :(

He was getting pretty racey.. trying to make runs from back to front.. but all he did was follow Kenseth to the middle... then try to go around him when he started to go low... then Kenseth came back up. I'd bet they're mad with whatever he did to get the run the lap before that brought him to 3rd on the chart lol
 
I'm going to wait and see what some of the other drivers say before i make a judgment call. Maybe they know something we don't.
 
Looked like a typical RP racin' deal to me. That's what happens when the cars are stuck in a big wod.

Kenseth moved out of line for just a moment, then tried to get back in line and the space wasn't there anymore.

No different that what Jr did in the Unlimited race with Ambrose.

Like I said... I have a feeling some of those guys don't like whatever moves Joey had to make to put that fast lap in. The lap before the wreck Joey jumped up to 3rd on the chart.
 
Whatever happened, you can be sure that it will never be the fault of #2 or #22 :)
 
Looks like there was about 50 people in the stands for that K&N race on the backstretch.
 
So far it looks like the 500 is going to be a massive war of attrition like it was in 2011.
 
Larson came in like a rocket to the pits. Slow down young fella.
