Kicks off in 25 days.

The United States is in pool G, with includes Germany(ranked 2nd), Portugal(ranked 3rd), and Ghana(ranked 38th), respectively, and most dont like their chances to advance out of pool play.

Friend of the message board Australia is in pool B with Spain(ranked 1st), the Netherlands(ranked 15th), and Chile(ranked 13th), and like the yanks, has an uphill climb to move out of pool play.

Still, go America!

I'm pulling hard for America to do well, but not hard enough to actually sit through a match of what I consider to be the most boring sport I've ever tried to watch.

Is this thread about odds that Brasil actually pulls this off? The buss drivers there are on strike.

That was one of the like three Men's US Soccer players I know the name of. If Patrick Dempsey and Freddy Addou don't make it, I'll be completely clueless.
Dempsey is in. Freddy Adu hasnt been on the national team in like 3 years IIRC.

With Spike doing most of the posting in this thread, there is an awful lot of skin on display.

I hope the US can stop our Ghana issues

One hell of a thriller today against Ghana! Brooks with the textbook header with 4 minutes left in regular play. Teammates & I went nuts along with our upstairs neighbors :D #IBelieve!!

USA USA USA USA

A big 3 points for the USA with Portugal getting crushed earlier and a hell of a game overall. Most of the matches so far have actually been pretty interesting.

Team USA tears hamstrings like Toyota's Cup engine blow ups valve springs.

Hopefully we've reached an armistice with the Germans and just kick the ball around for the entire game and get a draw.

More people are watching "boring" US World Cup soccer on TV than watch any race, any weekend :idunno:

Back when the draw came out I was skeptical of the chances for the US. Awesome stuff so far.
