Nice effort for the 41 guys.
Good turn around for the 18 crew. They were 42nd in the first session.
I like the Michigan speeds.
 
did they ever say why Larson didn't run a lap during last round of qualifying.
 
Menard is basically the best driver at RCR? Fantastic effort by him and I think Almirola is getting better and better. He will be due for a win in the future. He's been great for RPM.

Qualifing hasn't really translated into races for Alimrola or Menard.

Aric is getting closer, he's always in the top 10-12 area now in days. He'll be successful sooner or later.

Menard is odd, he can have a great car and muck it up. When the car is not as solid starting off, he and his crew make solid adjustments to get him in the top 10 or even top 5. He's an odd case.
 
It will be interesting to see what Manard does in the N'wide race. He has a different crew chief and he is on top in both practices. Could it be as simple as a better crew chief and Manard's car wakes up? Guess we will find out in a couple of three hours.

hmmm Kyle Busch 2/ 100's of a second ahead of Elliott. That is amazingly close. Should be a good race. Can't wait
 
Damn, I love the new format...i don't think i could ever go back to the old one.
 
Good, 3 out of the 4 SHR cars are in the top 5 in the 10 lap averge.

Yeah I've decided against it. It's stupid that you can set the fastest time in the first round, have that be the fastest overall and still not start on the pole.
 
Honestly, I quite like it.

I'm used to it after watching it used in F1 and Indycar. Yeah, there is nothing wrong with getting the fastest lap. Okay, you perfected the lap. It makes them have to be on their toes and make it interesting, its a bit of a gimmick, yes. Yet, there is an extra challenge to the situation. If a driver can get it right once, do it again.
 
Oh look, 4, 24, and 48 are the cars to beat AGAIN. The championship will come from that group of teams.

Don't forget...a lot of the fans on here say that practice and qualifying doesn't mean anything...or maybe that is just when their car isn't in the top 5... or when Danica does good.:D
 
I've had enough sun in my first week at the beach. Got the dish in the RV set to auto tune to a days worth of NASCAR programming. Gonna spend most of the afternoon in front of the TV watching this one rooting Jr on to back to back victories. He's got the car. He's got the attitude. He's got the sponsor. It's time.
 
Anyone here that subscribes to the Raceview scanner ever try to stream the scanner audio over their iPad?

Never have seen anyone here say practice and qualifying doesn't mean anything. But if they did, using Danica as an example would tent to prove them right. :idunno:
 
The HMS+ cars look strong and if that #4 team ever manages to chase out their Gremlins - look out!

I'm also expecting to see the RCR cars hanging around the top-10 all day and the big question for me is if the Fords have anything for them 'cause if Biffle can't run top-5 here, something is terribly wrong.
