I predicted Matty would fall on his face in 2013 and he did............ I predict the same result for 2014
If he ever masters those Nationwide cars he may do better though :laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh::laugh: Mr Busch can help
 
If Matt won a couple races last year, I could see how someone could say it was beginners luck with a fresh team. To not recognize the effort and level of talent necessary to win 7 races in one season, with a fresh team, at the Cup level is just plain ignorant.
7 wins, 12 top 5's, 20 top 10's and a total of 1783 laps led with a brand new Cup team is quite an accomplishment.

That's why we watch, will he fall back or continue to be the top Yota driver. I for one was sick an tired of all the hype for switching to Gibbs, and it was out of character for Kenseth to win that many, but he had a first, a second, two fourths and a fifth with Roush. The press was acting like he came out of nowhere like a shiny new years baby.
 
Dale Jr. will win the Daytona 500.
Brad K. will fail to make the Chase...again.
Carl Edwards will win a race and botch his back-flip.
Jeff will bounce back and contend with Jimmie for the championship.

Yes that is all true and I give much credit for that, but I believe it will be his best accomplishment in his NASCAR career. I feel 2013 was his best year ever!
I sure hope for the Gibbs fans sake that Gibbs rethinks what basket he puts his eggs in or the team will implode!
It may sound foolish, but it's how I see it.
I'll put my shield up now and prepare for the attack...lol.
 
Kenseth may not do as well in 2014 as he did in 2013, because there is typically a drop-off the next year for the driver that finishes 2nd in points. Tony Stewart in 2002 was the last driver to win a championship after finishing 2nd in points the year before.

Indeed the eggs were in the wrong basket, there is only one driver in the Gibbs organization that can bring them a championship IMO
Hopefully they will sort out that problem and give their best driver what he needs to suceed. I catch plenty of hell for that opinion but what the heck.

I like Kyle, I really do, but Matt was able to come closer to a championship in his first year with JGR than Kyle has been able to in six years with the organization. Until Kyle can prove he can put something together in the last 10, Matt's probably their best shot at a championship.

The pressure of the chase may affect others in Kyles camp as well, we both know that it takes good cars to win races. I am not completely sure who to blame but I have lots of confidence in my favorite driver

You applaud kybu and kybu alone when things are good so instead of blaming Joe Gibbs and everybody up to and including the hauler driver when things are bad, focus on the real problem, the driver.

We have all seen the proof many times, as soon as things start going wrong Kyle has a tendancy to lose self control and becomes his own worst enemy.
Don't get me wrong, I think Kyle has more talent than most drivers but he needs to grow up.
Besides some one needs to stop the JJ domination and Kyle has the ability if he could try and help fix bad situations instead of making them worse.

I've never said that it was all kybu, but you insist that the problem is "never" kybu and just like him you blame everybody and everything else for any setback he may have. I'm too old to try and always be right, It's too much work.

I see three drivers at JGR that are capable of winning a championship, including one that has already done it and very nearly did it again in 2013 and another that came darn close in 2010 and would surely have been in the mix this year if not for an unfortunate injury. As usual, I have no earthly idea what you're on about.

I think somebody put a stop to the crazy burnouts. the one Kyle did at Phoenix was great as usual but he stayed in the car.

I think the fact that Joe Gibbs doesn't put equal amounts of eggs in each basket will keep him from a cup before any of the drivers/crew chiefs/left rear tire changers will... just sayin.. lol... Now.. take this bull over to the KyBu thread lol :p
