Over the Cassill we go
If the Wood Brothers can't go full time, I don't know why they'd switch. manufacturers.
don't think that would ever happen, really don't see the woods brothers around for much longer period. the way brian france has it headed it's going to get harder on the lesser teams.Could be in an alternate universe where after what...60 years, the Wood Brothers switch to another manufacturer.
I wonder who the Wood Brothers turn to now. Hornish might want a decent part-time Cup ride, although it will probably go to another RFR development driver.
Who should be gone is Stenhouse. At least Biffle and Edwards can still perform. Not saying its all roush's choice but if he ends up with Stenhouse, Biffle and Bayne, he's gonna be in for a rough season.
Could be in an alternate universe where after what...60 years, the Wood Brothers switch to another manufacturer. In a hypothetical, Toyota lures them away with promises of TRD support, because of the Wood Bros name still, even with their dropoff, has some swag with it in the racing world. TRD support, young Toyota developmental drivers using the ride like Rousch and Bayne have, and Toyota sponsors them with ToyotaCare much the same way that Ford/Motocraft has.
Wont happen, but its something to think about.
The reason I'm thinking maybe MWR is that they've made it known that they want to go back to a three-car operation, Biffle may have a sponsor to bring, and MWR has proven in the past that they don't mind hiring "seasoned" drivers.
Danica Effect. Can't touch him as long as she is.
Ill do it
- Wood Brothers looking for a driver: The Announcement that Trevor Bayne will join the NASCAR Sprint Cup Series full time in 2015 with Roush Fenway Racing raises at least one interesting question: Who will the Wood Brothers tap to fill Bayne's part-time #21 Sprint Cup seat? Team co-owner Eddie Wood, speaking in the Charlotte Motor Speedway garage on Saturday afternoon, indicated the team hasn't begun a formal search for Bayne's replacement, but added that -- whoever the driver is --?? he will likely run a limited schedule as the Wood Brothers have done since 2007. "(The search) has just kind of started," Wood, who co-owns the organization with father Glen, brother Len and sister Kim, told FOXSports.com. "We'll probably start talking about it sooner than later. I've got to get with Motorcraft, Quick Lane and Ford Motor Company because there's a lot of people involved in our world, so we'll sit down with them and figure out what they want to do next. So we're like, you know, Day One." While the Wood Brothers don't know yet who Bayne's successor will be, this much is certain: The team, which has been in racing since 1950 and collected 98 top series NASCAR victories with a host of drivers, isn't going away. "No, no, no," Wood said. "We've had, I think, over 75 drivers in our car over the years. You move through racing as you move through life, and, no, no, we won't do that."(FoxSports)(5-25-2014)
YEP. That may be a possibility. It would, In My Opinion, be a smart move for both sides.Johanna Long

WB mainly run experimental Ford stuff. His performance in the 21 car after he won the 500 was dismal and he aint exactly lighting up the nationwide series now. Even in the 6 car i think he'll still be a midpack driver week in & out.

Lol no. How about Sam hornish, Chris Buescher, or Ryan Blaney
I would expect those guys to be considered as well. Keep in mind that I'm not the one making the decision
RFR could go the way of Junior Johnson Racing in the 90's and Robert Yates Racing in the 00's. These were once mighty teams whose driver situation disintegrated to the point of shutting down. Junior Johnson's drivers in the team's last year of operation were Brett Bodine and Elton Sawyer. For RYR, it was Travis Kvapil and David Gilliland in their last year. If RFR gets down to just Bayne and Stenhouse, the cupboard will be pretty bare. His performance in the 21 car after he won the 500 was dismal and he aint exactly lighting up the nationwide series now. Things have deteriorated from there. Despite saying two weeks ago in Kansas Biffle was “absolutely, 100 percent” not looking outside his current organization, I’ve learned that’s not the case. Sources claim the driver’s plans lie elsewhere for 2015, that he is actively seeking other employment and that the feeling is mutual. One link in particular, direct to the Roush organization who wished to remain anonymous said he’s been told the future for Biffle involves “anything but” RFR, the only NASCARteam he’s really driven for.
One more question mark revolves around the No. 88 team of Dale Earnhardt, Jr., whose crew chief, Steve Letarte, will leave for the TV booth in 2015. A top-level crew chief change could also spur other moves as teams jockey to improve their prospects. Probably the most notable free agent crew chief is Chad Knaus, who currently works with Earnhardt’s teammate Jimmie Johnson (though all four Hendrick Motorsports crew chiefs are currently signed just through the end of this season, so he’s not alone). Knaus will most likely stay with Johnson, with whom he’s won six series titles, but should he decide otherwise, it could trigger a larger than expected number of changes on top of the pit box as well is in the race cars next year.
I see that he's only signed through the end of this season with both Roush and his sponsors but he's signed with Ford beyond 2014. Interesting to see where he ends up with the limited options.

This is going to be fun to watch --- who goes where and when it's announced.
With all this "info" floating around, there's got to be nuggets of truth in some of it.
Maybe Dave Rogers ought to give it a go, he hasnt been too busy
I know who isn't on your Christmas card list my man! LOL
Lets assume Carl leaves. Does he take Jimmy Fennig with him wherever he goes? Or is Fennig Bayne's new crew chief? Not sure how that will work out...
