2015 Phoenix - Campingworld.com 500(k) - Pre Race Thread

Does anyone remember who drove the 46 in the actual races for Days of Thunder? I want to say Hut Stricklin or Bobby Hamilton but I can't remember.... I suppose I could look it up but I would rather let it bug me for a bit.
(I wanted to know too). Greg Sacks, Hut Sticklin, and Bobby Hamilton were the stunt drivers. From Wikipedia:
The cars were officially scored for the Phoenix race in 1989, but were not for the 1990 races, likely because of Hamilton's strong run the year before.

New @PhoenixRaceway: deep-fried PB&J sandwich covered w/Cap’n Crunch, bacon crumbles, bananas and caramel drizzle.
Everything about that sounds and looks good but the caramel drizzle.

Taking bets on Gordon getting into someone's mess.

What lap will it happen this time?

Even more interesting..... Danica is ahead of Jeff Gordon by 26 points heading into Phoenix.
Hell after Jeff being wrecked in the first three races It's a wonder that he's not 48th in points. And you know who is responsible for one of those.

Greetings guys, everyone is on Harvick this week. Odds are pretty disgusting on him, I am going with Earnhardt Jr (+975 currently) as my early pick! Finished 2nd to Harvick here last year, only driver outside of Harvick to finish in top 5 in all 3 starts this season. Greg Ives and the team proved they will take chances last week. I think Junebug could play the spoiler role this weekend.

Milestone for Kasey Khane this weekend. This Sunday at Phoenix International Raceway, #5-Kasey Kahne will make his 400th career Cup start. In 399 career starts to this point, Kahne has accumulated 17 wins, 83 top-five finishes and 147 top-10 finishes. One of those wins occurred at Phoenix in 2011.

Way out on a limb here, Jeff has good qualifying effort, finishes in top ten at Phoenix

Also interesting..... Danica Patrick leads Kyle Larson by 4 points heading into Phoenix. o_O

Pretty sure those results were "photo shopped" to make Danica look good....... :) End of Season........Kyle will outdo her.

Maybe all the JGR cars will have engine trouble and Kasey will finish the race with a good day,

I gotta adjust my "who I'm watching" list for Phoenix. Scratch the 2 car and add the 24 car. Reading this convinced me.

Keselowski crew chief placed on probation for rest of season
NASCAR placed crew chief Paul Wolfe on probation for the rest of the 2015 season after NASCAR caught Team Penske pulling out the fenders on Brad Keselowski's car before qualifying at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. The NASCAR penalties announced Tuesday night included a $25,000 fine on crew chief Steve…

Probation in NASCAR means about as much as probation at Faber College, and even less than double-secret probation.

Like them or not, Brad and Wolfe work well together.......it will be a loss for Brad not having Wolfe on the box.......but, that's just my opinion. I'm sure they will appeal, and who knows how long that process will take, or what the results will be when all the dust has settled. If Wolfe is allowed to work at Phoenix, then I could see he and Brad making every effort possible to win.

What am I missing here. Probation doesn't pull him off the pit box unless the rules have been changed again.

So..... Kurt is back in the seat this weekend. Is he going to make a statement with his finish this weekend @ Phoenix? What do you think..... In or out of the top 10 finishers this weekend?

I say in the top 10. Probably a top 5.

In the high 20s.

Probably just like the rest of SHR, right where they left off last year.

Pre qualifying "got my eyes on" for Phoenix.

4 car, 11 car, 5 car, 78 car, 2 car...........want so much to pick Jeff, but, shoot, I don't know who is worse snake bit....him or Kasey. And they ARE racing just below rattle snake hill..........This will probably change after qualifying..........going to the back at Phoenix is almost the kiss of death as I see it........short race, hard to pass.....

Man, with Martin missing qualifying, that's gonna make him start in the back, and this is Phoenix...........the "no pass zone" of somewhat oval tracks. Don't know if he can get to the top 10 or not. I ditched the 2 car earlier because I misread a news clip, and put the 24 in. Guess I'll put the 2 back in and keep the 24 in. Don't know if the 78 can make it to the top ten from the back at Phoenix.

Way out on a limb............picking the 11 for the win! With Harvick 2nd.......the 5, 2 and 24 in the top ten. :)

(call me crazy........)

why is Martin missing qualifying?

What? So whoever posted those pictures of Truex and his girlfriend and him and girlfriend and Dale Jr. and girlfriend wuz bumping history? I looked at the pictures and read the comments............no, didn't look at dates...........it was on the front page of the Forum. Boy, can't trust anyone............ :) Well, shoot, good for Truex and hope he blows 'em away at Phoenix. Isn't there a law against bumping History?
