Per:

That information tells me nothing other than who got credit for the win, deservedly or not.

I hope Chase races with a giant chip on his shoulder this week. Two phenomenal mile and a half cars in the chase so far and has fallen victim to circumstance both times.

I just can't find anything to get excited about when I think of this track. Personally, I can't wait for Talladega and then Martinsville, Phoenix and Homestead.
This right here.

I've gotta be honest, I'd be pretty bummed out if Kansas was ever taken off the schedule. I realize it's not that exciting of a track to watch, but It's a bit tougher to go to a race live if you don't live in the Eastern United States. Kansas is currently the only track I can drive to, watch the race and drive back all in one day. Texas is the next closest track but that's roughly a 5 1/2 drive one way. Weekend trips to watch a race can get pricey with the ticket prices, hotel prices and gas prices.

Great reasoning and probably the reason they have a track in Kansas.

If we are going to have a playoff format can we please not put a majority of the most lackluster tracks in the playoffs

New Hampshire, Chicago, Texas, Charlotte, Kansas, zzz zzz

Kinda agree, but I would prefer these tracks over tracks where it's very easy to get caught up in someone else's mess. It doesn't mean you're a bad driver if a bunch of people pile up in front of you, thus taking you out of the race. That's just bad luck and I feel like luck shouldn't be what wins someone a championship.

I've been pondering the idea of going up friday to mess around at the track. I haven't been to a NASCAR event since 2000 or so, mainly just go to the local short tracks, so it would be good to see the cup cars on the track again and catch the ARCA Race. For those that have been at the track, I'm guessing there is a casino by the track, is there any other stores right by it? Or anything to kill some time at?

TIRE CODES
  • Tire: Goodyear Eagle Speedway Radials

  • Set limits:
Sprint Cup: 5 sets for practice/qualifying and 10 sets for the race

  • Tire Codes:
    Left-side -- D-4656 Right-side -- D-4662

  • Tire Circumference:
    Left-side -- 87.56 in. (2,224 mm)
    Right-side -- 88.35 in. (2,244 m

  • Minimum Recommended Inflation:
Left Front -- 25 psi Left Rear -- 25 psi
Right Front -- 54 psi Right Rear -- 50 psi

  • Notes: NASCAR Sprint Cup teams will run a completely different tire set-up than those in the Xfinity Series at Kansas this week . . . this is the same combination of left- and right-side tires that Sprint Cup teams ran at Kansas earlier this season . . . Kansas is the only track at which either of these two tire codes will be run by Cup teams in 2016 . . . this right-side tire code (D-4662) employs Goodyear's multi-zone tread technology, which combines two distinct tread compounds on the same tire -- the outboard 10 inches of the tread (Traction Zone) features a compound that is designed for grip, while the inboard two inches of the tread (Endurance Zone) is toughened to enhance durability on that area of the tire which sees the most heat and takes the most abuse. . . as on all NASCAR ovals greater than one mile in length, teams are required to run inner liners in all four tire positions at Kansas . . . air pressure in those inner liners should be 12-25 psi greater than that of the outer tire

Kansas, Las Vegas - both progressively banked tracks, would be better going back to their older/flat banking.

Kansas seems to have good attendance for both races for some reason though, so while many of us (myself included) would like to see it lose a race, that isn't happening.

I'm gonna head up to the track Saturday and catch the Xfinity race and then get out there by 8 am Sunday do a little tailgating. There is plenty to do around the track if you're new to the area - casino and the legends outlets which includes a Bass Pro. Best place to drink is the Yardhouse.
