A night race on a newly repaved track..... I'm not expecting much out of this week. Grip to the max on a 1.5er..... Doesn't bode well.

I'm hoping for a repeat of the really reconfigured track, Phoenix with kahne taking the win

I'll be making my first trip to Kentucky Speedway! I'm stoked! I got a great seat for $59! Has anyone been there since the parking fiasco? I have to believe it won't be "too bad" getting in and out given the smaller crowds. I'm staying in the Milford, Ohio area (east of Cincinnnati). My hotel is about 40 miles from the track. I was able to get a great deal on a really nice hotel. I have a 7:30 tee time Saturday morning at one of the better public courses in the area. If I leave my hotel by 1:30 I should be parked at the track by 4?.....

The weather looks really good for Saturday. The 90's should break Friday which means "reasonable temps" race day.

Aren't they running the same reduced downforce set-up as Michigan? That should help some.
Right, and zero skew in the rear toe as well, I believe. But Goodyear did have to back off the softies they planned to use due to blistering, so that is not good news IMO.

Hey y'all!

I'm Coke, here, joining' you guys for a race for the first time. Been trying to find a new place for a little bit of time after I noticed how my old place is falling apart (thousands of members and Logano hate will do that to ya), so I'm here now! Hope y'all are kind!

Welcome aboard!

Thanks, y'all! Just finished spending an obscene amount of time making that profile picture, but I hope you guys like it. Looks like a really nice place!

Second Saturday night race in a row, guess who is doing a happy dance:pbjtime:, to bad its on a 1.5 track thats been repaved, hoping for the best, but not expecting a barn burner.

No fear, enough Logano hate here to make you feel at home. Every accident is caused because he drives to hard. They do talk about other stuff though. :D

Well, as long as I'm not called a stupid moron without sarcasm like I was there, I'll definitely enjoy this place.

Welcome! You will get Logano-ed from time to time, but as long as you don't Kenseth back, you should be good. :D

Jacked for this weekend. Fascinating to me to see who gets on this first. Qualifying will be crucial.

I thought it was odd when Knaus told his driver to turn his off last Saturday night.

Not liking what I'm reading and hearing from the track. Tough time getting anything more than a single groove worked into the surface. Speeds are up which isn't a great thing. At the very least, when they decided to repave/reconfigure this place, they should have temporally moved it to a day race to produce better racing until the surface is wore again. Hopefully they can get this place worked in before Saturday night.

FYI ...

Sprint Cup qualifying Friday streamed on NBC app, no live national TV. (NBCSN has U.S. Olympic track trials).

It is not rocket science reduce to 130 mph like legends series and goody' dash had or continue to have boring racing. Generally, the slower the speeds the better the racing at 1.5 mile tracks.

They're alright.. problem is you mentioned Logano in ur first post :p

That could get you linched around here.. especially after last week lol

I didn't realize they changed the banking during the repave. Turns 1 and 2 from 14 to 17 degrees.. does that mean turns 3 and 4 have less banking than 1 and 2? That could be interesting.

Kind of reminds me of Darlington. I personally like it.

After last years barn burner of a race, I really hope they didn't just kill this track.

That said, the only cars that have been on track were the trucks for a bit yesterday. We will see how today and tomorrow plays out

I think the race will be pretty good. The different configuration will make setting the car up a little difficult for race condition. The tires might hold up but i have a feeling the crews will be battling the cars as the sundown goes down. This is going to be an interesting show. I love Pocono for the unique aspect of it. I think Kentucky might have hit on something. I'm driving out to Cincinnati tomorrow. I'm pumped!

Now if we can only get tracks with some uphill and downhill. North Wilkesboro and Nazareth.....
