I'm going to head up in about an hour. There's a small cell over the track right now but otherwise the radar looks clear. That will change as the afternoon goes along and more showers/storms pop up. Hopefully, they stay away from the track! We need a little (not a lot) luck today to get the whole race in.

I'm still a little worried about fog/low clouds causing a problem. That's often the biggest problem at Pocono...

It just hit me this will be the first race I attend without an Earnhardt competing....

This is one of my least favorite racetracks. Thank God for the DVR.

I love the challenge of Pocono for the drivers and the teams, and the strategy options that it presents. That said, the June race was was one of them track position deals, where clean air was king. Hoping we race today, and hoping it is better than the June race.

I am keeping my fingers crossed as I set the DVR to record the race but things don't seem promising for the moment. It seems like track drying could be an issue as even if it stops raining and drying begins another storm could pop up. Tomorrow doesn't look the best either but hope springs eternal.

Seems like the trucks and xfinity somehow always manage to get the perfect weather days out of these weekends that are forecasted to be miserable.

I guess the answer is to just move everything to Saturdays

I'm at the the track now. The rain stopped about 15 minutes ago. Still a lot of low hanging clouds to the west. The radar looks ok now but something could pop up.

At least the earlier start allows for a bigger window. Next year, not so much....

Percentages don't mean crap when it comes to the weather. Races have been rained out with no chance of rain and races have been completed with a great percentage of rain. It is what it is. Weather is too unpredictable. They'll race when they can.

He might have a point. I used to say it was always 50/50.. maybe it will/maybe it won't. I still want to see a guess of the chances.
