2017 Pocono - Overton's 400 - Pre Race Thread

Does anybody know if regular race tickets will get you in for the qualifying on Sunday morning?

Your ticket gets you in for quals. I don't think they'll let you out and back in though, so settle in for the day.

I once went to a night race at Bristol and there was caution before the first lap was complete, I think there was 19 total cautions that night.

Early in the week our local meteorologist gave the weekend two "gold nices". Now Saturday is looking rainy and cool with highs in the mid 60s. Sunday still looks pretty good. I don't think they'll be much of an issue getting 400 miles in. Even so, the 3 pm start times are just moronic.

25 years ago, Davey Allison's infamous flip at Pocono. It's often forgotten is that Waltrip would go on to win the race....

The "karma race". The last time I saw Rusty win in person. He fought like hell to hold off Burton for what was going to be 2nd place...

Earnhardt won the first race after Allison's fatal helicopter crash....

Awesome ending to the race. Still gives me chills...

I am looking forward to a nice clean race. Indy was probably the worst race I have ever watched. Caution after caution was just unwatchable.
Who wants to watch a nice clean race? I guess if you need a nap cause that would be boring!

Do they impound the cars after qualifying with these all Sunday shows?

I dont see anything stating it is a impound race, but that is a good question.

Nascar has chosen to interrupt "nice clean races" with stage breaks !! yes ............ a nice clean uninterrupted race would be nice !!! I will be watching Moto-Gp when their summer break is over

If it is an impound race and someone wrecks in qualifying does that mean they don't race? If they do race and it is an impound and they go to a backup what is the penalty? It takes some time to get a backup ready.

They can use a back up car, and the penalty is starting at the rear, most of the top teams can get a back up ready pretty quick.

Some Nascar fans like wrecks, caution flags, and restarts. Rockingham was always famous for producing a lot of 'em, and folks love The Rock. I'm just sayin' :idunno:

Double file restarts came along years after Rockingham was off the schedule, and there weren't any more wrecks/cautions there than at any other track :idunno:
