2017 Pocono - Pocono 400 - Pre Race Thread

What the hell Chase. Good lord.

Yeah that was fugly. Should have thrown down another lap for sure. All you had to do was look at how spread out the time sheet was to know there would be a lot of movement.

McDowell makes it into the final cut..driving the stink out of that Leavine Family Racing Chevy
The way they have been running this year has been impressive. I think they could be the next furniture row, small team that makes it big.

It didn't spin that fast for long but it is impressive anyway :booya:

Poor Junior. Second and fourth can be so confusing. Ives needs to tell him that fourth is over there where Amy's thigh would be. That should help. He really likes her.

I'm not buying into that. The skew didn't even help him all that much there's no way it's this detrimental. It's something else.. I'm not concerned.. but I did pick the 22 in a fantasy game so I need a good one lol

I'd disagree to an extent. My Toyotas put all of their engineer eggs in the skew and fan basket last year, and when it was taken away, they became more ordinary. I felt that the same was possible for the Penskes, and after the 22's encumbered win, things have been different. Where I will agree is that I am very surprised at the extent of the fall. They look a bit better this weekend, but I mean Joey was a factor (and a pain in my ass) every weekend. These days, I have to go back to the results to see where he was in practices and qualifying. Fascinating stuff, but I will tell you what you already know....Penske is not short on engineering talent. They will figure this out before Indy IMO.

Gonna stress this again....I freakin' appreciate being able to exchange with you about your guy (and your stuff about my guy) without the personal BS that is common around here. Truly enjoy it, and honestly, although I was completely pissed when I was at Phoenix last November that my guy didn't win, it made me smile knowing that you would be happy. You are a class act on this board, and one of the reasons I stop by. You add to my immense enjoyment of this sport. Best of luck to you today! Enjoy!

Got to let them believe what they are going to believe..skew heh heh
What is amazing and frankly puzzling is how much of the broadcasts they are talking about the ricers. They haven't screwed up the manufacturers championship I don't think...yet. and that tells the tale.
Chevy 6
Fords 5
Toyota 2

Love the hell out of this track. Technical. Awesomeness.

One of the things that I do appreciate about Fox (primarily Jeff Gordon) is that they have picked up on Toyota's improved performance. Revisions were due in Kansas, and more came for Charlotte and beyond. They took a step. Part of what is awesome about this sport, and amazes me. With a box so tight, where do you find speed? Just cool.

As for the defending the Manufacturers Title....probably gone. Too slow of a start, but everybody from Toyota will tell you that they want the Drivers Title more than anything. I feel like they felt that they peaked too early last year.

It's after 12 and Im just wrapping up a round of golf before heading to the track. These 3 pm starts are so weird.

Is anyone else experiencing about a 1 second delay between when someone moves their mouths and when you actually hear their words? It's driving me nuts watching the pre-race show.

Heh, heh, heh…..

MRN - Made mention Ky. Busch ain’t won a race since the last in Indiana. Then a chicky-babe talked to ole Junior. At the close of the interview they mentioned he hasn’t won a race this season.

Looks like a great crowd today. Really impressed how well this track is run.
