At this rate we will NEVER make it to Pocono. Every 5 miles a crash and stoppage or big traffic halt. It's terrible. I-81 N
Interstate 81 sucks. Always a truck going 55 trying to pass a truck going 54, and the trucks usually wait until your right up on them to cut out in the left lane.

I-65 from Chicago Area to Louisville is like that, a death trap. So is I-80 in Illinois. For people that drive professionally, some of the worst drivers are truck drivers IMO.

I always try to give truckers respect, but they all drive like a-holes on 81 for some reason, not sure what it is about that road.

Seems like it's not too bad until you get North of Roanoke, VA though. That's where it starts getting crazy.

Ths trucker says it's the road.

No kidding. Never had an issue before...maybe we were lucky. RT @GasHauler1163: @ClaireBLang As a long haul trucker, 81 in Virginia is always a friggin disaster. Needs to be 3 lanes the entire length for the amount of traffic it sees

I remember when truckers on the highways were your friends. They were the safest of drivers and you could depend of them for help if you got into trouble. I wouldn't trust one anymore these days. Such a shame.

I worked for a trucking company for awhile on the dock and my favorite were the long haul guys from California who couldn't back up the truck, it either took them half an hour or our yard jockey had to do it for them.

Almost the same plan for us - we are doing WoO at Ransomville by Buffalo tomorrow night then heading down to the Glen.

Hoping for great weather, cheers!

I was suppose to see Gov't Mule in Lewiston Tuesday night but didn't make the trip due to the rain/storms. I spend quite a bit of time in the Buffalo area. I love the Bills!

I remember an ad for something or another that showed a big rig and the caption, "Anyone can get it from NY to LA." The scene switched to a loading dock with one open bay between two parked rigs and the new caption, "Now get it in here."

Lot of true to that we were a P&D company our guys didnt have issues because they did it all day long, these guys just drove from California to Pennsylvania in 2 days and that was it.

Love the Mule. Had a chance to see Devon Allman and Duane Betts earlier this year and highly recommend it as well. I think they're playing Johnstown PA soon.

There's areas in the Mid-Atlantic and Northeast where it blows. I've traveled it heavily from Roanoke to the Canadian border many times (I live 10 minutes from exit 197 in Northeast PA). The worst areas I've encountered are Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, Martinsburg to Hagerstown and just north of Harrisburg before the 78 split. I love the drive from Winchester down through Roanoke. The New York portion is smooth sailing when the weather is good. It's pure hell in the winter. I've encountered lake effect snow squalls going to and from Syracuse that would bring bigfoot to his knees.

Those lake effect snows can burry you.

I worked with a fellow who was a Bills fanatic. Had a $50 bet on one of their play offs games. I go into the office Monday morning and everyone had a poop eating grin on their face, I'm told Steve is in the conference room to settle up. I go in and everyone in my unit is there and on the table is $50. $50 in nickels, loose Buffalo nickels. it was a pretty big pile too. LMAO.

Stupid for this track to even consider a road course. It's already different.

I just received this email. :D:D:D:booya: :beerbang:

We have kept a close eye on the AccuWeather Sunday forecast and we have some good news that we wanted to share with everyone. The forecast for the Gander Outdoors 400 currently says mid 70's, partly cloudy with a 94% chance of NO (that's right, NO) inclement weather!

Washout it is then

I don’t own rubber boots, a sweater, umbrella, or mittens.
For obvious reasons.

People were wearing ski caps and gloves at June Pocono race. Temps were in the low to mid 50s with a legit windchill. Reminded me of the Monday race in 2000. Minus the finish of course....

Byron's second time to the track, going to interesting to see how he does with the second time arounds at the tracks the rest of the season.

Fortunately, Pocono is not actively seeking a road course event. Rather, they are open to it if NASCAR decides to go more in that direction with tracks that have two dates:

Pocono could be a prime candidate. Besides its 2.5-mile triangular layout, the track has 22 road-course configurations — each of which can be run in either direction. That makes 44 options ranging from one-half mile to 3.6 miles.

“We’re the Burger King of race tracks,” Igdalsky said. “You can have it your way here.”

Igdalsky wants to make something very clear: Pocono is not lobbying NASCAR for a road course race.

However, he said the track has discussed the topic with the sanctioning body. It let NASCAR know if that is the direction it wants to head, Pocono is able and willing.

“We want to do what’s best for the sport and best for the fan base,” Igdalsky said.

Chase has said a few times that the car he had in the last Pocono race was the best they've been all year, they just didn't get the finish it deserved. He stormed from the mid 20's to a top 10 finish in the closing laps. Interested to see where they end up Sunday.

12 hours of cars and trucks on two tracks (Iowa & Pocono) today. Happy Saturday ya'll. :beerbang:

Saturday, July 28
1:00 PM eastern, NCWTS Pocono (Camping World) truck race, FS1

5:30 PM eastern, NXS Iowa (Xfinity) race, NBCSN

Sunday, July 29
2:30 PM eastern, MENCS Pocono (Monster Energy) race, NBCSN

sweet . . .

I count practices, qualifying and the races in the 12 Hrs sir. :p

Considering that it's about 21 hours between the start of Cup practice on Saturday and the end of the Cup race on Sunday, I'm figuring that you'll use that 9 hour difference to catch up on your naps. :D
