Love this damn sport. Every damn ounce of it (except OSS). Let's do this!
...aaand the raindrops are here
Radar shows a bunch of widely scattered little trash. It doesn't look like it will last long at all.

Will Jimmie Johnson finish his first Clash in 8 years?
Qualifying should go without any hiccups here. The Clash could be dodging some raindrops here and there, though.

Love the ghost car. Hope they use it more often
HMS poised for front row pole #5
I like it today, especially since they've figured out how to include the running car while it's live. I However, I think they'll only be able to use it like this for the races with single-car qualifying.
Right now they're using it to compare the single car on the clock against the ghost of the fastest car. What about when there are multiple cars on the clock? How will they decided which running car to compare? What if there are two or more cars on the clock that are faster than the current pole sitter?
Hendrick trying to make a statement - P1 through P4 with 13 left to qualify. They may not stay there, but they're certainly consistent.
Good grief the Chevy's are fast.
I wish that was the final round.
Not sure but hopefully they can figure it out, they are a lot smarter then me. I think they could use it during the race when first place is out front by a second or so then apply it to the second place car. Its one thing to hear an interval but completely different when you can see it.
3,9,and 13 Crew Chiefs suspended for the rest of Speedweeks
I assume you have more info??? Reasons, sources? Inquiring minds want to know!!!
You can’t tell me Wallace is a bust driver when he has equipment that can’t even crack the top 30 on speed alone. Says a lot when he raced that POS car to the runner up finish last season. He needs a real chance.
Bring your car to the track right.
Or they may well stay there for the first round!!
Failed inspection twice.
"Three car chiefs were ejected from Daytona Speedweeks on Sunday, following their respective cars failing pre-qualifying inspection twice in advance of the Daytona 500 next weekend.
The No. 9 Hendrick Motorsports Chevrolet of driver Chase Elliott, No. 3 Richard Childress Racing Chevrolet of Austin Dillon and No. 13 Germain Racing Chevrolet of Ty Dillon failed pre-qualifying inspection twice, leading to their respective car chiefs being ejected".
Denny puts hand up to window
*ghost car still pulls away*
The right roof flap on the 8 was slightly open. Deflecting air over spoiler?
NASCAR is racing nature. Pouring 5 minutes away from the track.
HMS may just run 1 2 3 4 for all 500 miles.
I like this qualifying method far better than the knockout method I wish they did this every week.
Another offseason storyline pole winner.
Bowman ruined “the storyline” of Knaus’ new team and old team on the front row.
HMS is definitely cheating, right? I mean there's no way in hellz that they take the top 4 spots otherwise. I read somewhere else that organization was done.
maybe so, but 7 time has forgot more than that front row knows.
Yeah, Jimmie won his first Daytona 500 pole in 2002....when William Byron was 4 years old.
They're fast, but do they handle...
Knaus in 24 gear just feels right
This. Qualifying means about zero for the 500 other than “yay they’re back on track!”
It’ll be interesting to see. That was the issue in 2016, when the HMS cars lit it up in qualifying but couldn’t keep it in a straight line on race day.
