I’m super excited. Just for that first practice even...lol

I posted my excitement in the random NASCAR talk thread yesterday cause I didn't feel like starting a thread lol.

Will be there bright and early for practice Saturday and back for more Sunday. READY!!

So freaking jacked! 8:35 a.m. Pacific first practice. I'm in.....

Can't wait for this last season of real NASCAR racing. After this, it will be sports cars and windmills...

Hopefully this race is a lot better than it has been in the past couple years

Doesn't have the respect of teams IMO. I should think RCR and SHR would have provide rides for Suarez and Hemric.

Charter teams are required to race the race. I don't think Jr's Infinity team that Hemric drives part time for qualifies as a cup charter team. Neither does Suarez's team so they don't have to race in a race that doesn't pay that well anyway.

I want make this weekend but,

I will be there for the Twins, Truck Race and Exfinity, plus a couple nights at New Smyrna for some Super Late Model races.:bounce::punkrocke:partytime:pbjtime::salute:

Heck of a plan good luck, I always hit the night clubs along A1A after New Smyrna :)

Amen I went to the last one under the lights in 2016 and had a great time. 2018 I went back and that didn't do it for me.
It's been a dreadful race the last two years - both during the day. They've gotta move it back.

I noticed the track lowered the ticket prices to $85 this year for the reserved tower seating, down from $125, so they're starting to get the hint. It's still about $40 too high imo though.

$85 for a 75 lap exhibition race? They outta their gotdam minds. Over a dollar a lap.

Yes, it does.

Thanks, I will. You do the same.

Haha exactly. They're milking people to come sit in that sparkly facility. Don't get me wrong, it's incredible, but they need to chill.
The 2012 Budweiser Shootout had 82,000 people attend. They'll be lucky to break 10,000 on Sunday.

Seems odd that I keep hearing that attendance isn't that important because all the money comes from the TV contract. If so, why do they charge so much to attend the races? I think $65 for this race would be pushing it. We used to be able to go to qualifying and stay for the ARCA race for free when we wore our scout uniforms. But they stopped that a few years back.

Yeah I think it was $73 after the fees but $65 face value. And what you get for that amount of money is unbelievable. Can go anywhere you want except in the garage but even if you add that it's not much more.
Even if you just stay in one place, you get a LOT more than just 75 lousy laps.

I'm predicting Chase to have a dominant speedweeks

500 Qualifying is included too but single-car qualifying at Daytona isn't terribly interesting lol.

Might stop over on Saturday for practice and ARCA. $25 for GA everywhere. Way better value.
