Well actually the 600 pays more points than any other race, which everyone seems to gloss over. So I guess nascar feels that's the most important race of the season

For me the 600 is no longer a "Crown Jewel". When I started watching NASCAR 1-3 engines exploded every race. Noe it is very rare. The 600 was a race to see whose equipment could hold up. Now it is just a boring *ss race.
