2021 R-F Race Ratings

Once again, I’ll keep track of our average ratings for the Cup and Xfinity races here. The usual caveats apply, but I’ll just post here as a refresher:

- Only ratings for the race will be counted, will not count ratings for the winner or the TV coverage. Also will only count ratings if a majority of the race was watched (i.e., ratings like “I only saw the last 10 laps but I give it a 9” won’t be counted toward the average)

- Any rating lower than 1 will count as 1, any rating higher than 10 will count as 10

- Highest and lowest ratings are dropped provided there are at least 10 responses, otherwise all ratings will be counted

- Overly complicated ratings won’t be counted (i.e. “8.5 for the first stage, 6 for the 2nd stage, 7 for the 3rd stage, but a 10 for the last 5 laps)

I gave this race a 5.5. My personal limit on pack races is 6; I'll never give Daytona or Talladega anything higher. So for me, 5.5 is relatively high.

But this is the first time my rating for a pack race has been above the average. Maybe more people are losing their tastes for auto carnage?

I only went a 4 on it myself.

A couple of disclaimers this week....one person voted twice for the Cup race, it was the same rating so I just counted one of them toward the average. Also, I didn't remove the highest and lowest rating from the Xfinity race since there were less than 10 responses for that one.

Daytona gets a 6 rating because half the forum rates it 9-10 and the other half rates it 1-2

We have a new race atop the leaderboard. So that we wouldn't have a tie at the top, I've decided to carry the ratings for tied races out another decimal. I went back and looked at Martinsville, Las Vegas, and Road America and here is the new list with tiebreakers. On the Xfinity side, there was a tie between Charlotte and Martinsville, but when I went back and looked at Martinsville, I noticed I removed the highest and lowest rating which I shouldn't have done since there were fewer than 10 responses, so I made that correction to the Martinsville rating.
