For the second straight week, the second go-round at a Cup track gets almost the same rating it got in its first race.

One correction I wanted to note, I went back and checked the Road America Xfinity ratings since this week's race was tied with it, and it looks like there may have been a couple ratings posted there after I calculated the average, so I have included those and adjusted RA's rating.

Was wondering if these were all time highs…the Cup race was close but a little behind the ‘18 Spring Bristol race and the Xfinity race tied last year’s top race at Darlington. I’ve been tracking Cup since 2015 and Xfinity since 2018, here are the top races from previous years:

Almost….I think the all time low was the June 2015 Michigan race which got a 3.52. That’s the one where they were fighting rain on an off all day and it got called just over the halfway point.

Looking at the numbers, it's funny how similar the 1.5-2 mile tracks that use 550 HP are in ratings compared to where they were in 2018 in the last year of the low downforce. Without the last Las Vegas stinker the ratings were essentially even, the Vegas race brought it down to 6.8. Definitely shows that in our eyes the racing on intermediates has not improved, but to be honest we really don't think they're much worse either.

Looking at the numbers, it's funny how similar the 1.5-2 mile tracks that use 550 HP are in ratings compared to where they were in 2018 in the last year of the low downforce. Without the last Las Vegas stinker the ratings were essentially even, the Vegas race brought it down to 6.8. Definitely shows that in our eyes the racing on intermediates has not improved, but to be honest we really don't think they're much worse either.

Yeah me too. Seeing them run when it was dry, I hope in 22 they get to finish one off in the dry or at the worst in a very light rain. They were racing the hell out of that track.
