Lots to watch tonight in the sprint car world, as the inaugural race for the non-winged Xtreme Outlaw series put together by WRG is taking place at Volusia. Johnny Gibson is on the mic for tonight along with the permanent series announcer. A USAC-heavy field is in attendance.

Of note, the non-winged Volusia track record is still held by Steve Kinser 40+ years ago. They did not break it tonight.

Non-winged sprint cars at a big half mile like Volusia are badass. The racing in the heats was stellar.

Good debut feature for this series. CJ Leary wins over a charging Justin Grant.

1. CJ Leary
2. Justin Grant
3. Carson Short
4. Chase Stockon
5. Robert Ballou

T-Mez wins the tonight and $10,000 (big money for non-wing), with Bacon driving that Giles car finishing second, Chase Stockon third.

The non-winged cars put on great racing at Volusia, and the launch of the new series has to be considered a success.

Justin Grant and Chase Stockon DQed and penalized for apparent tire doping at Volusia in February.

A wild main event for the Xtreme sprints at Lake Ozark. Brady Bacon looked to take control until he spun out unassisted with a charging Robert Ballou chasing him. Ballou won his heat only to be DQed for not reporting to the scales. He then had to come from the back of the B, got collected in a spin, still came back to win the B, then climbed all the way to the lead of the A-Main after Bacon's spin. CJ Leary then found his way around Ballou to take the win. Great racing all around.

Never sleep on non-winged sprints.

1. CJ Leary
2. Robert Ballou
3. Shane Cockrum

Wild race, some great battling and slide job exchanges between Cannon McIntosh and Gavin Boschele until Boschele wrecked himself pushing too hard. Then on the next restart Larson did the same thing from third and wrecked himself. McIntosh wins with Taylor Reimer coming home second, very impressive finish for her.

Main Feature was really clean for especially how difficult it can be to navigate traffic. It was considerably better than yesterday, quality of racing wise.

@Clutch, Pickens just came from way behind to steal the win at Pevely in the final corner by driving right around Jacob Denney on the outside. Thrilling pass and finish.

Thanks gnome..... Just watched a replay of that thrilling finish
