Looks like they and Red Bull are on 3 stop strategies: everyone else is on hards and running 2 (except KMag, who started on hards and must be going for one stop).
I don't think so. Perez isn't fast enough to stay ahead of the Ferrari's with an additional stop and the Williams would fall pretty far back as well.
Aston not telling Alonso who hit him lol
Apart from that Stroll has been pretty solid so far. He's doing a good job despite the injury.

Esteban Ocon disasterclass…sheesh. Disappointed in Alpine this weekend too.
Last I checked T+S Gasly was up to ninth from the 20th spot, so at least he's running well. It looks like they might have something to build on.

Midpack is indeed fascinating. There doesn't seem to be a real gap in performance lap-by-lap between Haas, Alfa Romeo, Alpha Tauri, and Williams. McLaren seems to be a smidge behind that group of 4, and Alpine is only incrementally ahead of them. Then you've got Mercedes and Aston Martin seemingly equals right now but with radically different driver lineups in terms of potential.

Stroll fastest lap 👀
Aston certainly has something they can build on. Getting Alonso was a masterstroke. It even seems Stroll has upped his game too, aside from hitting his teammate, that is. Look for Aston to have breakout season.

It's too early to tell just yet, but it looks like the big three, then Aston, and then everyone else.

Glad to see you made it here. Any more silliness from the other place and we could be swamped.

So Red Bull are the only contenders to have been able to pull off two soft stints. Incredible tire deg.

It's not a surprise to see Alonso running so well, but with the injury the real surprise is how well Stroll is running. Give them a few races and if they keep improving like they have they could make the top three into the top four.

Posting online about how Ferrari was once an unstoppable juggernaut and all the Zoomers are telling me "Go back to bed, Grandpa."

Norris is almost 60 seconds behind Hulkenberg in the last running position. That is not good. That is in fact extremely bad for McLaren.

Max' engineer sounded like he's about to fall asleep.
It was a good race behind the Red Bulls. Hopefully someone can mount a challenge to them in the next races.
Awesome to see Alonso on the podium, surely this won't be his last one. I don't think I've ever heard him that happy either . Great job by Stroll as well.

One race is in the books, two more to come!

Stroll is banged up, beat Russell, and finished only a few seconds off of Hamilton. There’s a lot of potential in the Aston. There will be days where things go wrong for Red Bull and they’ll be able to compete for race wins. RB have picked up where they left off at the end of 2022, but it looks like P2-4 among the constructors could be really interesting.

Good recovery from a horrible qualifying by Gasly and it’s good to see Albon grind into the points again.

Disappointing to see such a blow out, but we were all kind of expecting that. I'll do like last year, just appreciate the greatness and enjoy the mid field battles, because those look like they are going to be stellar.

I agree on all points, it was a blowout. But Alonso's steady climb made this a very entertaining race imo, not a classic but still well worth watching.

I saved it on the DVR and plan watching it again to focus even more on Alonso's race.

Interesting times at Mercedes. They can’t build fast cars anymore and have Hamilton without a contract after this year.

How do you convince Hamilton to come drive two more years with a ****box? I don’t think the idea is appealing at all.

If Mercedes lose Hamilton to retirement or some other team, they are screwed. Hamilton made a top 10 car into a top 5 today and left George in his own dust.
