2025 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix

Once again, where the hell did he come from? McLaren dominates practice, Max gets pole by two tenths.

Max is still gonna need help tomorrow though, and some of you might remember McLaren team principal Andrea Stella already fumbled a championship at Abu Dhabi 15 years ago.

George was wrecking loose there.
 
Alright, a podium is all Lando needs tomorrow. I like his odds.

I don't think there's going to be any beating of Max tomorrow, but making up 12 points is going to take a minor miracle or another blunder like McLaren made a Quatar. It's still way up in the air.

That was a tense watch. I think it played out the way most of us expected. I was expecting some sort of controversy (like the penalty Lando did not get), but it was a clean race. Well done lando, and well done Max. Hell of a season.
 
In a lot of instances, drivers have to lose a championship before they can win one. Lando lost his chance last year but turned it around. Oscar threw this one away, but he will know better next year.

As nucha as was made of it, papaya rules didn't make a difference.
 
After just about a week to reflect, I can say as disappointing as it was to see Max come from so far back and come up just two points shy, it was arguably his greatest season ever, and winning the most races of anyone this year is a huge achievement in itself. Norris is a deserving champion and was ultimately much quicker, cleaner, and more consistent than Piastri down the stretch, and that was his main competition for the majority of the season.

So long to the ground effect regs - you will largely not be missed.

It’s a good thing Kimi fumbled that spot to Norris last week, because McLaren likely would’ve swapped Piastri and Norris in the closing laps at Abu Dhabi for Lando to win the title, and zero people would’ve wanted to see that cluster.

Yeah, I have no idea how he keeps winning races while his teammate can't even finish in the top 10. He's really that damn good.
