The track couldn't hold the laps. At the same time this year they started checking for tire doping, caught some also. Tire doping was found to be responsible for the track not being able to race well. It rubbers up and becomes one lane. It sounds like they are going back to 55 laps. The track stayed in exceptional shape thru the Shootout and the Chili Bowl this year.I haven't read the entire thread. Excuse me if this has been asked before. Why did they decide the cut the laps in the primary event from 55 laps to 40 laps?
I don't think I watched last year's race. I did watch the main event on Saturday. I've read a lot of people talk about how good of a race it was. I thought it was average. I think a longer race would have made it a little more interesting. The track couldn't hold the laps. At the same time this year they started checking for tire doping, caught some also.
