True. Still, he was a good race car driver, not a great one. The hall of fame should be reserved for the great ones.

I would classify drivers like Geoff Bodine, Bobby Hamilton, Ken Schrader, Ernie Irvan, the Burtons, etc. as "good" drivers. Rudd is definitely in the "great" category IMO. Didn't he win at least one race a year for like 16 straight seasons? He drove for several different teams, including his own, and was very successful everywhere he went.
