I can't believe what I'm typing here but Tsunoda outqualified Verstappen for the sprint.

Seems like lots of fans don't like the sprints. To me it's just another race, but if they axe them, I wouldn't miss them.

Even the teams seem complain they don't get enough practice, so it might be time to reconsider. I don't really like them, but for now they are part of the championship.
 
This track sucks. Watched a few laps of the Sprint and fast forwarded through the rest. It’s a motorbike circuit.

Pole for Piastri, maybe he’s getting it together again but is it too late? Norris P2 and Max P3. Should be an intense start tomorrow.

Vasseur said they switched development focus to the 2026 regs back in April. If they aren’t competitive next season the whole organization is going to look awfully dumb, again.

Thankyou ! I thought it was just me as I fell asleep during the Sprint race.
After that quali , if Lando is happy , I am happy. He seems confident he
can squeeze out at least top 3 , which is the magic number, for him these
last 2 races.
 
If Lando can win tomorrow, or at least outscore the other two, he's the champion. It's been a long stressful season, so I hope he puts it away.

I fearlessly predict Max will have at least one collision. Every time Max gets a serious challenge he does something unfair. I'de say today is the biggest challenge he has faced, so I would not expect him to be a gentleman about it.
 
Max doesn't have a chance unless the McLarens collide. If Lando wins he takes the championship so I hope Oscar wins to take the championship to the final round.

MotoGP has been running there since 2004 and it became the sport's first and only night race in 2008 and famously rained out the next year.
It's probably the most soulless of all the mid-eastern venues. The track layout is OK for MotoGP but useless for F1.

when Max threw a big swervy block.

At this point it looks like Max is in the best shape of anyone. McLaren really screwed the pooch not pitting.

It's sort of a high speed Hungaroring. At least WEC races well there but there are better circuits available, like say, Monza or Silverstone. even Portamao. Both F1 and WEC race better at these places.

Mercedes made the same mistake in 2021 and let Verstappen win the championship plus they sucked the next year.
 
McLaren strategy is pretty bad. Another win handed to Verstappen. They could have easily won this race if they if they split the strategy between their two cars or both pitted with Verstappen during the first stop.
