Makes sense: TMez has been saying he wants to concentrate more on wing racing this year and it makes sense given his driving tendencies. I know he won a race last year at Central Arizona or Vado or something in a 360 and I'm too lazy to look it up on SprintCarRatings but I know it's there. Also pretty clearly something that they've all collectively planned for a minute since I saw Engler teasing this driver announcement a week ago on his Facebook.

Engler has been working on that engine he built and designed. It is stronger and faster this year. I have been watching T-Mez drive it. It sounds different than last year. T-Mez was leaving them on the straights..
