2026 All-Star Race

An inversion of the top 26 after stage 1 and then combining results of stages 1 and 2 to fill the field for stage 3......unless you're already locked in.

Man this format seems so easy I cant how there could be any confusion

Gawd these people complicate everything

Lmao this is hilarious. NASCAR gets applauded for a true "back to our roots" marketing campaign and competition changes then ****s out the most complicated and over-the-top All Star race format in a decade.

So now just everyone gets to be in the All Star race.
I've always wondered what makes this an 'All Star' race. It's the same guys we see every week, doing the same things they do every week.

At least this format gets rid of that jaw-jacking delay between the Open and the main event. Fox will probably compensate by making each stage break half an hour long.

With stuff like this, I sincerely wonder if during the process of negotiating the TV deal across the multiple platforms it's on if they ever said, "Hey, do you really need the All Star Race to be a 4 hour TV window? Because we could just do another points race instead." But my guess is no one stopped to think about that or even consider possibly trying to trim the fat a little. Ultimately the bulk of the costs are on the teams, after all.

This is what happens when they don't have the playoffs, and brackets, and cut lines to fudge up anymore. This $hit makes sense to them.

I didn't care either way points vs non points but if this is the track and this is the format, I am now firmly in the camp that believes the All-Star race should die and we should just add another points race.

Given the moronically long distance for an exhibition race and that fact that everyone starts, we're already 95% of the way to it just being another Dover race sans points.

Dover is a tough place to have a good race at to start with. Maybe the geniuses thought, I know let's just baffle them with B.S.

In dirt racing they will or won't invert the field BUT they don't tell them what they are going to do in advance. duh.
You, sir, are implying these professional race team might find advantage to performing at less than their full abilities. I will not stand here and listen to you besmirch the integrity of Cup drivers, so I'll sit down and you can besmirch away.
