This crept up on me. Need to find a dedicated
monitor for this in the house. 1:30 p.m. EST Saturday.
GT World on YouTube has us covered.

This race has gradually gotten a little bit better each year since it first really opened back up to the world in 2023, but this is the first edition where you can say it’s gotten back to what it was when it peaked in 2019 and 2020. Should be a lot of fun with such a stout entry.

It’ll be tough event debuts for the Mustang and Corvette with only one Pro car apiece, but hopefully they can mix it up a bit and be around at the finish.

Drive through penalty for Nicky Catsburg in the 2nd-placed Corvette for a safety car procedure breach. That car had led a lot so far, brutal mistake.

The leading AMG has walloped a Porsche that had been waved by and spun on the lap immediately after a restart. Dreadful decision from race control not to call a safety car with the track completely blocked while the leaders were approaching that section of track.

The JMR Corvette was the fastest car on track today but got shuffled back due to untimely cautions and a penalty, and finally goes out with a sudden rear suspension failure similar to what one of the factory cars suffered at Daytona. Wouldn’t be surprised if that’s something they look to address whenever they roll out an evo.

The two leaders commit some serious headloss on the final restart with 40 minutes remaining and the GMR AMG goes on to win it. That was fun.

Caught the highlites this morning. No yellows waving
with a blocked track is totally beyond the pale. Seems like
they may need a few more flag stands. I have the winning driver
Maxime Martin autograph from '13 and '14 Petits. Good to see him
bring it home for the team. The Bathurst start in the pitch black
is really one of motorsports great spectacles.
