Totally baffled by Ford not stepping up. They are the sole 100% USA auto manufacturer (no foreign ownership like GM has the CCP as a shareholder), they have the only real two door rear drive vehicle for their race body, and they have a great source of engines (check out the IMSA engines). They also have no pipeline for future Cup drivers. Ford has to rely on Chevy or Toyota development drivers.

The Fords have improved in Cup this year. Three Fords in the top 10 in points. They lost Haas's 2 cars in O'Reilly before this season. I don't think any other teams wanted to switch over from the program they had probably is one reason this year. With no testing, it's a big gamble to switch to a different body and get the cars right..See Hendrick.
BTW the Yotas only have 6 out of 38 cars this year in the O'Reilly series. Last year it was 4 or 5 most races. Could be that having chosen to use a car that is being discontinued this month quiet as it has been kept could have something to do with it.
