He was with Ty's car later in the year and my guess is he made some comments about the driver that we're well received. We know how that organization feels about about anyone that speaks ill of the golden child (see Corey Heim)

I am thinking it was more that he was forced on the box to save Ty's reputation. I don't love Heather calling the shots with Coach stepping back--particularly in this situation. I do think Ty will be fine, and that he is okay for the ride, but I don't like this a bit.
Isn't he starting his fourth season in Cup? I realize he's on the same plan as Austin Dillon but RCR isn't a flagship team with better drivers on deck.
Ty keeps showing flashes... hard to say whether he's got "it" or not.
But if I was put in a racecar at birth ike ty gibbs I'd also probably be able to show flashes of "it" no matter what.

Yep, but I don't think Heim is going to be with JGR when he eventually goes full time. Honestly, I see him at 23XI.....or more likely Legacy.

I believe that if Ty was racing with another team, he would have won by now. I don't think this arrangement is good for him either.

It's hard to say no to the kid who will inherit the company. I don't know if he would have won somewhere else but I definitely think it would be good for him to go to a team that isn't affiliated with Gibbs.

No Denny claimed in the lawsuit that if you give us more money we will hire drivers based on talent and not money.

The Monster money is directly a result of Herbst's family business. This one is interwoven in ways that would require Herbst voluntarily stepping down...maybe go back to O'Reilley's?

I can't help but wonder how much the uncertainty of the lawsuit may have affected sponsorship talks back in 2nd 3rd quarter last year.

I just think with the current political climate Bubba isn't the sponsorship machine he was several years ago. Good thing is he did something and got a few wins to offset that now.
