Looks like the final race in the Chase for the Championship will remain at Homestead next year.
I think that's the correct decision. Homestead finale is a big part of the series' history. Has a lot of aura to it.
It didn't move to Atlanta until maybe 1987? Whenever Riverside closed.I didn't realize that homestead hosted so many more finales than Atlanta. I always felt like it was at Atlanta forever but I guess when your a kid what seemed like forever isnt as long as you think!
Seems like also the finale is going to be rotated frequently. I'd rather the final 10 get rotated or refreshed on an annual basis to prevent 06-10 from happening again , personally.
There’s a lot of blue left on the map. I will say…I paid for 6 tickets to Cup, I’m sitting start finish line under the press/ suites overhang and I was shocked at the price. I’m wondering if they over priced?I was pretty surprised to see that about Chicago but that inspired me to look at the seat map. Yikes. IDK about them being able to find a logistics firm that will need that space as much now either. Oopsie.
Yea the Chicago market isn’t a market that deserves two races. It’s going to have to be one or the other I’d imagineThat would be wild to invest in Chicagoland only to go back to the street course.
Doubt they could justify a race at each track. Within 5 hours driving of Chicago you have... Michigan, Indianapolis, Iowa, Milwaukee, Gateway, and Road America.
I fear this could be true. Chicagoland might be one and done, if so that really is unfortunateThey’re not going to run two races in the Chicagoland market
They eventually want to race their trucks around them as a support race for the Cup main event.Okay, what's behind Amazon's obsession with street courses?
That will just have us wishing UPS and DJ were back. They eventually want to race their trucks around them as a support race for the Cup main event.![]()
I'm going to the race at Chicagoland, my first in cough cough years...looks like there won't be another chance to go.I fear this could be true. Chicagoland might be one and done, if so that really is unfortunate
Makes no sense to undercut a race that hasn't been run yet.I fear this could be true. Chicagoland might be one and done, if so that really is unfortunate
IDK if this it true or not but?
Not much sense in this thread or the silly season one most of the time, but the topper is the pixel thread. I just try to post what the reliable powers that be post and leave the rest.Makes no sense to undercut a race that hasn't been run yet.
Technologically, no. I don't know if there's enough fan interest to support two races that close together.I'm not so sure that it's impossible to race at both Chicagoland and on a Chicago street course. I won't bet against that. Just a gut feel, nothing more.
